Li Xuefeng joined the old revolutionary in China in 1933, and during the war years he was mainly engaged in logistics work. In order to protect him, Li Xuefeng was transferred to Hebei and made him the director of the Hebei Provincial Revolutionary Committee and the political commissar of the Beijing Military Region. At the Lushan Conference in 1970, Li Xuefeng was removed from all his posts because of other involvement, after which he was imprisoned again and remained in detention for eight years.
