Mondo Technology Updated on 2024-03-04

Fibocom announced that its 5G RedCap (Reduced Capacity) module has been successfully deployed and commercialized for 5G IoT scenarios. This move was made in partnership with high-profile customers such as Askey, Quanta Computer, and Planet, all of whom have a significant presence in their respective vertical markets.

These companies undergo rigorous engineering testing and validation to ensure that the latest generation of 5G RedCap is seamlessly integrated into customer equipment. This development will enable ultra-reliable data transmission and efficient network utilization under 5G networks for a variety of application scenarios such as home connectivity, enterprise-grade connectivity, and industrial-grade connectivity.

"We are proud to announce the commercial 5G RedCap solution with our customers in diverse markets based on Fibocom's 5GREDCAP module portfolio," said Ronald Chan, Vice President of Sales for FIBOCOM Asia Pacific.

As an enabler in the ecosystem value chain, FIBOCOM will continue to explore the capabilities of 5G RedCap in terms of hardware design, network performance and energy efficiency. We look forward to working with industry customers to unlock the full potential of 5G RedCap and help them monetize 5G RedCap in a shorter time-to-market." ”

During MWC Barcelona 2024, Fibocom has launched a range of 5G RedCap modules compliant with 3GPP R17, including the FG131, FG132 and FM330 series. These RedCap modules are designed to provide high-performance, cost-effective module solutions for industry customers, facilitating a smooth migration from 4G to 5G. Notably, scalable form factor options are available to accommodate diverse market needs.

Fibocom's 5G RedCap module solution delivers enhanced network performance, simplified hardware and antenna design, and reduced power consumption. Implement the solution in customer end devices such as CPEs, ODUs, mobile hotspots, dongles, industrial routers, gateways, power equipment, in-vehicle smart devices, cameras, etc., enabling these devices to access the 5G network in real time. This makes it an ideal solution for efficient business project management with superior data transmission performance in complex IoT environments.
