On March 6, the 2024 Asian Ski Mountaineering Championships came to an end at Vanke Songhua Lake Ski Resort in Jilin City, Jilin Province. After five days of fierce competition, the Chinese team won all 7 gold medals.
The championship set up vertical races, sprint races, individual cross-country races, and mixed relay races, with nearly 100 runners from China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand and other countries and regions participating. The individual cross-country race on the 6th was long and difficult, with three ascents and three descent during the race. In the end, Brewer and Jidan Yuzhen of the Chinese team won the men's and women's championships in 57 minutes and 19 seconds and 1 hour, 5 minutes and 52 seconds respectively.
In this event, Brewer and Jidan Yuzhen showed good competitive form, winning the men's and women's vertical races respectively on the first day of competition, and then won the gold medal in the mixed relay together. The sprint race is a competition event of the 2026 Winter Olympics, with a short course and a full range of skills, which tests the comprehensive ability of athletes. In the women's competition, Yuzhen led the way to win the championship, and the gold medal in the men's group was won by the Chinese team's player Ismal Tohetar Aili.
