Record my 2024
Recently, the handling of the ship collision incident in the waters near Kinmen has reached a deadlock, and the delegation of the "Coast Guard" on the island has held several rounds of communication with the victims' families, but they have still not been able to reach an agreement on the disposal plan. This incident has aroused widespread concern and heated discussions inside and outside the island, and some forces on the island have even adopted a tough attitude and refused to apologize and compensate.
Since the incident, mainland coast guard vessels have stepped up patrols in the waters of Xiajin, including two ** converted coast guard vessels, to ensure the safety of the sea area. This kind of situation is unprecedented for the "Coast Guard" on the island, and for a time people can't help but doubt their ability to deal with it. But what is even more worrying is that some forces on the island actually want foreign countries to intervene, is this to shirk their responsibilities or have ulterior motives?
At the same time, the Taiwan authorities are also taking urgent action and investing NT$3.4 billion in the construction of an anti-ship missile base in an attempt to demonstrate military strength. However, for the PLA, these so-called "missile bases" do not pose a threat. In the face of the mainland's military superiority, this kind of behavior on the island seems to be a bit self-defeating, and it is more like a kind of bluff.
However, what is most needed now is not a bluff, but calmness and rationality. Politicians on the island should stop inciting conflicts, and instead focus on resolving the issue, reassuring the victims' families, and properly handling the matter as soon as possible. Otherwise, it will only further harm the interests of the people on the island and may also lead to disappointment and distrust of the people on the mainland toward Taiwan.
At this moment, what we need is rationality and calmness, not impulsiveness and demagoguery. Politicians on the island should think about the interests of the people, not hurt the feelings of the people in Taiwan and the mainland for the sake of their own political interests. I hope that this incident will be properly resolved at an early date, and the situation in the Taiwan Strait will remain stable and develop for the better.
