Although Palu is now known as a "Pokémon-like" game, there was actually a successful Pokémon-like MMO called Temtem even earlier. But after 4 years, now Temtem developer Crema Games has officially announced the release of Game 17. After the update is launched, the official will stop updating the content, and give up the profit to delete the microtransaction content.
According to Crema Games, Temtem will no longer add new content to the game, including tems, islands, and passes, and all microtransaction content will be removed. Since Crema Games announced a new game, Temtem: Swarm, in February, many players felt that it was a sign that Temtem had been officially abandoned, and Crema Games assured that the game's servers would continue to be maintained.
Temtem launched a Kickstarter campaign in 2018 and earned $574,000, far exceeding its initial goal of $70,000. In the crowdfunding, Crema Games called Temtem a "massively multiplayer mob collection adventure game", and the game is indeed very similar to Pokémon in terms of gameplay, with less violent beast collection and breeding. However, Temtem: Swarm has now become a "vampire-like survivor" game, completely abandoning collection and cultivation in favor of violent battles against the Beasts. While there is no shortage of ways to explore new directions in the face of Temtem's declining performance, how to maintain an already stable community of players is also a problem.
