After the exam, the child told me about his situation:
The problems behind the math were made, and it felt good, but the basic questions in front were wrong, which made him very depressed;
English is simple, and you can't get points;
I didn't do well in physics, I didn't do well in geography, and I didn't feel much in Chinese.
He also kept saying that because he was too nervous, he did the wrong questions that should be done correctly, and he said it three times in just five minutes.
After listening to it, I felt a little bad in my heart. The pressure on children is so great, and it hurts us as parents to watch.
I really think that test scores are important, but children's mood and growth cannot be ignored either.
I want to tell the child:
Everyone makes mistakes, and that's part of growing up.
The key is to learn from your mistakes and make sure you don't make the same mistakes again next time.
Nervousness is also a natural emotional response, and it shows that you take the exam very seriously.
The important thing is to learn to accept this emotion and find a way to regulate and cope with it that works for you.
There will always be highs and lows in life, and these are things that children need to experience and experience on their own. Passing, frustration, nervousness, sadness, and reflection ......These are the only ways to grow.
Growing up is a process full of ups and downs and challenges, which requires children to think and experience with their hearts, and to draw strength and wisdom from it. Many things, including how to deal with emotions, how to deal with setbacks, and how to adjust their mindset, are not completely replaceable by parents.
What we can do is to accompany our children silently, give them support and encouragement, and give them the confidence and courage to face the challenges of life.
