Among the 191 formal projects of major projects in the city in 2024, 25 projects are planned to be completed that year, mainly involving important fields such as science and technology, industry, energy, medical care, environment and major infrastructure. Among them, projects such as the airport liaison line, the Beiheng Passage, and the Yindu Road Tunnel are directly related to the travel of citizens.
The airport liaison line will be opened first
Shanghai's first new municipal railway airport connection line has a total length of 686 kilometers, passing through the 3 administrative districts of Minhang, Xuhui and Pudong New Area, with a total of 9 stations on the whole line, and the maximum speed of the train can reach 160 kilometers.
At present, the main structure has been basically completed. It is expected that the track engineering laying operation will be completed in the first quarter of this year, the single system commissioning will be completed in the second quarter, the joint commissioning and joint test work will be completed in the third quarter, and the early opening section within the year will meet the initial operating conditions.
It is expected that the first section will be opened to traffic by the end of 2024, and the running time between the two comprehensive transportation hubs of Hongqiao and Pudong can be controlled to about 40 minutes, and the interchange with a number of existing and under-construction rail transit lines will be realized, so as to facilitate the travel of citizens and passengers along the line. At the same time, it will further enhance the radiation role of Pudong and Hongqiao comprehensive transportation hubs in the Yangtze River Delta region, serve the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, and provide strong support for improving Shanghai's global city energy level and core competitiveness, and implementing the national strategy of integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
Yindu Road cross-river tunnel
The project starts from the intersection of Jingdong Road and Yindu Road in the west and reaches the intersection of Pujin Road and Luheng Road in the east, with a total length of about 38 km, including mainline tunnels and at-grade roads. The main line tunnel is 271 kilometers, consisting of Puxi cut-and-cover section (692 meters), shield section (1,170 meters), and Pudong cut-and-cover section (848 meters). Among them, the main line tunnel is designed as a double-pipe double-layer two-way 8-lane layout, and the design speed is 60 kilometers per hour. The outer diameter of the shield section tunnel design is 15 meters, and a 1543 m oversized diameter slurry balance shield tunneling.
At present, the main line tunnel has been double-lined, and the main structure construction and mechanical and electrical installation are underway, and it will be basically completed by the end of 2024 as planned.
As an important east-west passage in the southern suburbs of Shanghai, the Yindu Road Cross-River Tunnel connects Xuhui District, Minhang District and Pudong New Area, which is of great significance for improving Shanghai's road network system, promoting suburban urbanization, and alleviating the traffic pressure of Xinzhuang Interchange, S20 West Section and South Section.
The eastern section of the North Cross Passage
The Beiheng Passage Project starts from the Beihong Road Interchange in the Central Ring Road in the west to the intersection of Neijiang Road in the east of Zhoujiazui Road, with a total length of 191 km, with Wen'an Road as the boundary, it is divided into two sections, east and west. The length of the western section of the project is about 109 kilometers and was successfully opened to traffic on June 18, 2021. The length of the eastern section of the project is about 82 kilometers, of which the Longchang Road interchange has been successfully opened to traffic on July 31, 2020, and the main line tunnel under construction is about 69 km.
At present, the main structure of the eastern section has been completed, and the mechanical and electrical installation and decoration projects are underway, and various acceptance work will be started soon. The project plans to open the main line of the eastern section to traffic in the first half of 2024. After the opening of the main line of the eastern section of the Beiheng Corridor, it marks the completion of the main line of the Beiheng Corridor, which will further improve the traffic environment along the line, alleviate the pressure of regional road traffic, provide a new fast channel between the regions along the line and the Pudong area and the Hongqiao hub, serve the medium and long-distance arrival and departure traffic in the key areas in the north, and help build an integrated intercity transportation network in the Yangtze River Delta region. At the same time, the Beiheng Corridor has a great driving effect on the key development areas such as Changfeng Ecological Business District, Caojiadu Business District, New Railway Station, Suhe Bay, and North Bund in Suzhou Hebei along the line, and is of great significance for connecting the two major airports of Hongqiao and Pudong and serving the development of the Yangtze River Delta Economic Belt.
In addition, the western extension of Rail Transit Line 17 (Dongfang Luzhou Station-Xicen Station) is expected to be opened to traffic by the end of 2024, effectively promoting the integrated and high-quality development of the Yangtze River Delta Demonstration Zone. It is also planned to be put into operation by the end of 2024, and the main line of the Shanghai section of Shanghai-Suzhou Lake will cross the core area of the Yangtze River Delta and be an important railway transportation channel connecting Shanghai, Suzhou, Huzhou and other key cities in the Yangtze River Delta. There are 7 stations on the main line, including Shanghai Hongqiao, Songjiangnan, Liantang, Fenhu, Shengze, Nanxun and Huzhou, and 1 station of Huzhou East Railway Station, with a length of about 64 kilometers. The completion of the project is of great significance for jointly building the Yangtze River Delta on the track and helping the Yangtze River Delta to develop with higher quality integration.
