When I get older, my work life is stable, why don t I want to play games when I grow up?

As I get older, my passion for gaming fades, why is that?

Players in the game world are typically divided into four broad categories: explorers, socializers, killers, and achievers.

I've always been an adventure player since I was a kid and love triple-A games that are full of story and immersion. I'm passionate about playing games on PS5, Xbox, Switch, and PC.

When I was in college, Dota took the whole school by storm, and everyone in the dorm joined the fray. When Honor of Kings first launched, I was also addicted to it. And "The Legend of Sword and Fairy 4" is a domestic plot game that I have been deeply immersed in, which I will never forget for a long time.

I've come to realize that it's not the battles and killings that I love in games, but the storylines that immerse me in them. "The Witcher 3", "The Last of Us", "GTA5", "Cyberpunk 2077", "Big Cousin 2" and "Old Roll 5", I have played all these story-filled games. In contrast, fighting, souls-based, or monster farming games didn't appeal to me too much.

The Last of Us 2, as a representative work of drama games, made me feel a lot. When we were young, we couldn't participate in the operation of the real world, and it was difficult for us to appreciate the grandeur and subtlety of the real society. The game world is fascinating to us, and it allows us to feel involved in another dimension.

I see the world of the game as a parallel space to reality, where I explore, feel, and enjoy the feeling of being part of the world. However, as I get older, so does my real-life experience, and my passion for gaming seems to be waning.

I finally realized that for the post-70s generation, the biggest and cruel game they face is "reality". From the closed campus to the society, we were exposed to all kinds of people and strange lives, and we realized that the world we live in is so big and so subtle. The open world presented by the game, no matter how complex, is just a virtual projection of the real world based on the real world by the producers. The real world, on the other hand, is something that we may not be able to fully explore in our lifetime.

As we get older, so do the responsibilities and pressures in our lives. The achievements and satisfaction gained in the game do not lead to actual help in reality. Gradually, I felt that games were no longer attractive and necessary for me, even though I still loved them. Now, my favorite thing is to lie in bed and play games and handhelds. But sometimes, thinking alone in bed, I realize that there could be three main reasons for this shift.

First of all, as we get older, we are no longer able to fully immerse ourselves in the game world as we did when we were children, and we get the satisfaction of being in the game characters. Secondly, with the increase of various chores in daily life as an adult, it can be difficult to maintain that mood even if you have a lot of time to play games. In the same way that people are now more inclined to sitcoms without depth than full-fledged meaningful movies, society makes people more impetuous. Finally, in order to make a living, the friends who used to play games together are also busy with their own lives, and the time to play games together is becoming less and less.

Life is a complex and ever-changing drama that is broadcast live every day. The game, as part of it, is also multifaceted. We can't indulge in it and forget the beauty of real life, nor can we completely abandon the game, otherwise we will lose the most precious thing in our hearts.

In short, we can think of life as a game called "Earth OL", where everyone's life is a game. There are so many kinds of games in this world that we don't have to make video games our only home, and we don't have to give up our love for the real world. Games will be an integral part of our lives, past, present, and future.
