The Prime Minister of Turkey, Hakan Fidan, urged Muslim countries to take concrete actions to stop Israel's brutal aggression against the Palestinian Gaza Strip.

Speaking at an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday (March 5), Fidan said: "Even if it is unilateral, there is a strong expectation that we will take immediate action against Gaza. ”

Fidan also called for a plan to counter atrocities in Gaza, as Israeli attacks on the Palestinian enclave, which has been under siege for nearly five months, continue.

"As a Muslim world, we must develop a plan to counter the atrocities in Gaza on three grounds," he said. The implementation of the decision to halt deliveries to Israel must be monitored. On the practical side, we should break the Israeli siege and prevent people from starving to death. On the political and diplomatic front, we should use all available means to increase pressure on Israel through collective action and concerted outreach. On the legal side, efforts to uphold international law at all costs are indispensable. ”

He also welcomed the adoption of a resolution calling on OIC members to participate in cases before the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court.

Fidan also stressed that the blockade around Gaza must be broken. "This must be done now, Israel is using humanitarian aid as a war **," he said. More than 400,000 Palestinians are facing hunger, and we cannot leave the people of Gaza at the mercy of Israel or wait for the blessings of the hegemon. It is our solemn duty to translate the grievances of the Palestinians into peace, security and dignity in their own country and on their own land. ”

The minister also stressed that extremism and racism in Israel have been trying to deceive the world once again. Human rights groups and non-governmental organizations should be allowed access to Gaza, regardless of the risk.

"We cannot leave the people of Gaza at the mercy of Israel, nor can we wait for the blessing of the hegemonic power," he said. ”

The atrocities that continue to be committed by Israel in Gaza

Last Thursday, Israeli forces greeted a group of Palestinians** waiting for humanitarian aid in the Al Nabulsi roundabout on Al Rashid Street, west of Gaza City, in northern Gaza.

At least 112 Palestinians were killed and 760 injured in the attack.

Israel has launched a deadly military assault on the besieged Palestinian enclave since an attack by Palestinian group Hamas on October 7, 2023, which Tel Aviv says killed nearly 1,200 people.

Israel's war on Gaza, now in its 151st day, has killed at least 30,534 Palestinians, mostly children and women, and injured another 71,980.

Israel has also imposed a paralyzing blockade on Gaza, which has brought the population of Gaza, particularly in northern Gaza, to the brink of starvation.

According to the United Nations, the Israeli war has led to the displacement of 85 percent of Gaza's population amid severe shortages of food, clean water and medicines, while 60 percent of the enclave's infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed.

Israel accused of ethnicity at the International Court of Justice ordered Tel Aviv to halt its acts of genocide and take steps to guarantee humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza.
