IT Home reported on March 4 that according to China News Service, Academician Wang Wei, deputy to the National People's Congress and director of the Research and Development Department of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, said in an interview that China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation is accelerating the development of 4-meter and 5-meter reusable rockets, which are scheduled to make their first flight in 2025 and 2026 respectively.

Wang Wei said that in recent years, China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation has used the Long March series of carrier rockets to provide users with 82 commercial launches, launching 72 international satellites and 130 domestic satellites. 48 commercial launches were provided, with 28 international and 119 domestic satellites launched.

Wang Wei revealed that the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation is accelerating the development of products adapted to the commercial aerospace market, accelerating the development of 4-meter and 5-meter reusable rockets, which are scheduled to make their first flights in 2025 and 2026, respectively; Breakthroughs have been made in key technologies of cost-effective commercial satellites, and communications, navigation, remote sensing and comprehensive commercial satellite products have been launched. Focus on the development of cost-effective solid rocket engines, YF-102 series liquid rocket engines, YF-209 liquid oxygen methane reusable engines, etc., which are urgently needed in the commercial market.

According to a previous report by IT House, in December last year, China successfully launched a reusable test spacecraft using the Long March-2F carrier rocket at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. The spacecraft will return to its scheduled landing site in China after a period of orbit operation, during which it will carry out reusable technology verification and space science experiments as planned to provide technical support for the peaceful use of space.

IT Home checked historical reports and found that on September 4, 2020 and August 5, 2022, China also successfully launched a type 1 reusable test spacecraft at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, and returned to the scheduled landing site after 2 days and 276 days of flight in orbit respectively.
