Why is it repentant to be rescued by the Central Special Branch?

Mondo History Updated on 2024-03-05

In August 1928, ** Tek received an order to rescue Peng Pai, secretary of the ** Agricultural Committee of the Communist Party of China, member of the ** Military Commission of the Communist Party of China, and secretary of the Military Commission of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China.

However, despite the dispatch of all the members of the ** Special Branch, the martyr Peng Pai was unfortunately killed in the end. This makes *** deeply remorseful, and also gives us a deeper understanding of the strength of ** Tek.

So, what caused this failure? It turned out that it was related to a major misstep.

Comrade Peng Pai, one of the earliest peasant leaders in our country, was praised as the "king of peasants", and in 1928, he led and founded the Hailufeng Soviet.

Soon, the Politburo appointed him as the secretary of the Agricultural Committee, but he went to Zhejiang as an inspector to guide the work. Subsequently, the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee was reorganized, and he became the secretary of the Provincial Party Committee's Military Commission.

In the face of the bloody storm after "4.12", more cadres are needed in ** and localities. In August of the same year, it was decided to transfer Peng Pai back and continue to serve as secretary of the Agricultural Committee on the basis of the strongest organization of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee, in order to inject new vitality into the revolutionary cause under the condition that the struggle was intense and the work needed personnel support.

Although the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee also needed manpower, they could only obey due to the constraints of the ** order. Therefore, on the afternoon of August 24, Peng Pai and Yang Yin, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau, director of the Military Commission, and Minister of Military Affairs, decided to hold a joint meeting of the Military Commission and the Military Commission of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee at No. 12, Jingyuanli, Xinzha Road, Shanghai, to discuss Peng Pai's transfer of the work of the secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Military Commission.

According to the usual practice, the task of notification was given to Bai Xin, secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Military Commission, because No. 12 Jingyuanli was his home. Bai Xin is a student of the 4th phase of the Whampoa Military Academy, who served as the party representative of Ye Ting's 24th Division Teaching Battalion, and previously served as the secretary of the ** Military Commission, he has always been responsible for notifying the time and place of the meeting.

However, what is surprising is that Bai Xin has degenerated into a shameful traitor at this time.

Bai Xin has always dreamed of studying abroad, but his savings are far from being able to support this plan. In order to study abroad, he made a harrowing decision, he surrendered to the Kuomintang city party headquarters and became a shameful traitor.

He knew that the Kuomintang attached great importance to ***, so he secretly leaked the time and place of ***'s participation in the meeting of the Military Commission. The start of the meeting was getting closer and closer, and ** was unable to attend due to temporary events.

When everyone was nervously having a meeting, several red-skinned armored vehicles suddenly appeared outside, and a large number of armed patrols and detectives from the city police station came down to surround Jingyuanli tightly.

Peng Pai heard the chaotic footsteps outside and immediately realized that something was wrong, and he immediately instructed everyone to destroy the documents. Due to the urgency of the situation, he himself even swallowed several pages of top-secret documents.

In the frantic search of the reactionaries, ** did not appear, but instead found several copies of our party's propaganda materials from under Bai Xin's bed, and used this as "evidence" to take Yang Yin, Peng Pai, Xing Shiling, Bai Xin and his wife away.

Fortunately, Chen Geng established a counter-espionage relationship through Yang Dengying, the special commissioner of the National People's Army, so he was often able to grasp important information in the enemy's operations. However, this time, because the Kuomintang used the name of the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau, not the Songhu Garrison Command, the comrade of ** was directly extradited to the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau, so we could not learn the news in advance.

**keenly aware that this was a traitor leak, so he entrusted Yang Dengying to investigate, and finally confirmed that it was Bai Xin's secret, but it was already too late.

On the night of Peng Pai**, ** immediately instructed Tek to carry out rescue and reconnaissance operations. Peng Pai and Yang Yin and others resolutely denied their identity, Peng Pai claimed to be Wang Zi'an, who came to Shanghai to do business, and Yang Yin also said that he was a businessman.

Only Zhang Jichun of the first phase of Huangpu confessed that he was a communist, but he declared that he no longer participated in the work of the Communist Party, nor did he serve as the deputy commander-in-chief of the picket team of the Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions.

During the Kuomintang prison trip, the identities of Peng Pai and Yang Yin were exposed, and the two knew that they would not survive, so they wrote a report to **, hoping to minimize the number of death sentences.

Although the two of them were determined to die, *** did not give up and decided to mobilize all the special forces to rescue the two with all their might. However, storming the prison is not a wise move, because it will only put more comrades in danger.

The only hope was to intercept the two on their way to the Longhua Garrison Headquarters.

On August 26, the Kuomintang interrogated Peng Pai again. Since Yang Dengying participated in the interrogation, our party specially arranged for a comrade whom Peng Pai knew to infiltrate the interrogation scene, stand behind Yang Dengying, and convey to Peng Pai the message that "the organization is preparing for the rescue, and you must be prepared."

On the morning of August 28, the enemy decided to transfer Peng Pai and others, and after receiving the news, he immediately mobilized all the elites of the special department to stand by at Fenglin Bridge. The plan is for the film company to shoot the exterior here, ** hidden in the props, and some small traders, jugglers, and monkey tricksters will be mixed in.

* Machine guns transferred from the Kuomintang garrison could hide in the crowd, but long guns were difficult to hide.

Originally, in order to prevent exposure, Tekko usually used short guns, but in order to deal with emergencies, they decided that Fan Mengju, the head of the underground party, would go to a foreign bank to buy a long gun. However, when Fan Mengju rode over with great difficulty, she found that all the guns were buttered and unusable.

The person in charge of the site was very angry and hurriedly sent someone to buy kerosene to wipe it and then apply hair growth oil. Just then, the prisoner van arrived. Since ** was not ready, the soldiers could only put down the shell guns in their hands and prepare to *** to rob prisoners.

However, they did not receive the expected order, because they found that the enemy had increased the mass of military police escorts, which could not be countered with pistols alone. They could only watch as the prisoner van passed safely across the Maple Grove Bridge.

In the Parc de France, Chen Geng waited for news of the prisoner robbery. However, as the minutes passed, the gunshots never rang out. He couldn't help but realize that the operation might have failed.

** Realizing the seriousness of the situation, he decided to look for another opportunity. Unexpectedly, the assassination of Chiang Kai-shek in Shanghai occurred that night, and all the guards were tortured, but none of them admitted to participating in the incident.

Chiang Kai-shek returned to Nanjing overnight, suspecting that it was the work of the "reorganization faction", the "Third Party" assassination squad, or the death squads bribed by the northern warlords, or the Communist special department.

In short, he had many doubts about the matter. When he learned that no clues were found, Lao Jiang was very angry and ordered the garrison commander Qian Dajun to immediately shoot Peng Pai and others.

Peng Pai and other ** comrades propagated the ideas of the Communist Party in prison, and the soldiers were so moved that they beat their chests and wept. However, on August 30, they were tragically killed, and Peng Pai was only 33 years old.

** Drafted "Answering the Counter-Revolution with the Revolutionary Struggle of the Masses" to expose the crimes of the Kuomintang. At the same time, Yang Dengying also began to sanction Bai Xin.

He went to Bai Xin's residence to "visit" and found that he was going to Nanjing to report ** secrets. But in fact, Bai Xin had already been to Nanjing, and he planned to go to Italy, but because he was afraid of Teko's means, he avoided going out as much as possible.

The Teko hoe team learned of his departure date in advance, and set up an ambush outside No. 53, Lane 4, Hefang, Xiafei Road, on November 11. This place is Fan Zhengbo's mansion and Bai Xin's hiding place.

On the night of 11 o'clock, Bai Xin, accompanied by the Fan Zhengbo brothers and seven bodyguards, left the mansion. The special agents immediately appeared and opened fire, one of the Fan Zhengbo brothers was seriously injured, the other was unfortunately killed, the other bodyguards ran or died, Bai Xin also quickly fled, but was still caught up, the bullet penetrated his forehead and the back of his head, and finally his brain burst and died on the street.

This incident, which occurred just two months after Peng Pai's death, caused a great sensation. There were even newspapers that declared that it was "the largest assassination in the East."
