904L stainless steel is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel with UNS number N08904 or 14539。This stainless steel is widely used in a variety of industrial fields due to its excellent corrosion resistance and good mechanical properties.

Chemical Composition:

Chromium (CR): about 20%.

Nickel (Ni): Approx. 24%.

Nitrogen (n): about 010%

Molybdenum (Mo): about 45%

Copper (Cu): about 15%

Key features:

Corrosion resistance: 904L stainless steel has excellent corrosion resistance to many acids, especially for chloride-containing environments such as hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid.

Mechanical properties: Its strength is high, and it has good ductility and toughness, and can maintain stable mechanical properties in harsh environments.

Weldability: Although the heat input needs to be controlled during welding to prevent intergranular corrosion, with the right welding process and post-weld treatment, 904L can be welded effectively and maintain the good performance of the base metal.

Applications:

Chemical industry: used in the manufacture of containers, pipes, valves and other equipment, especially suitable for the treatment of corrosive media containing halogen compounds.

Oil & Gas Industry: Used in sour gas treatment units in the production process.

Offshore engineering: Because of its strong resistance to seawater corrosion, it is used as marine components and marine structural parts.

Food processing industry: Suitable for food contact surface materials due to its high purity and excellent corrosion resistance.

In accordance with ASME B1611 and other standards, 904L stainless steel can be manufactured into socket fittings and threaded fittings, which are widely used in these industries. At the same time, it also complies with other relevant international and national standards.
