Since all the majors in the seminar's laboratory are in the same place, I was able to communicate with students from different disciplines on a regular basis, and it was also very helpful for the divergence and expression of my work, and it was a very happy two years for me. ”

Q: Tell us a little about yourself?
A: I'm Li Xinyao, and I am a monk from Tokyo Zokei University, Yumi Awano Laboratory. The theme of the graduation project was the visual possibilities in poetry translation ——— the "aesthetics of mourning" in ancient and modern wakathologies, and the graduation work won the ZOKEI Award.
q:What kind of discipline are you in?
A: Personally, I think that the degree of freedom is still relatively high, and the direction of research and production is different, but it mainly uses some electronic media as one of the main expressions, which involves interactive programming, dynamic related APP applications, VR experience, game development, etc., as well as the production and performance of some actual scenes.

Q: Can you tell us about your graduation project?
A: Reshaping the relationship between visual images and poetic language (with a focus on representation and research).
The reason for the creation of this work comes from the design idea that I had when I read the poems through translation, taking the "untranslatability of poetry" as an opportunity to visually translate the ancient poems through programming, and the "textuality" is eliminated from the picture, and the purpose of visual communication is to pursue the linguistic consciousness of a visual expression tool, and introduce the rich thinking of the text into the visual form. The standardization of poetic creation and the load of text are more changed by the metaphor and symbolism of images, which are more symbolic. Compared with the virtual empathy and spatial imagination of traditional poetic imagery, the visual poetic imagery has become more concrete and intense. The critical nature of poetry has been more flexibly exerted and survived in the advanced and diverse **, and consciousness has also been interpreted and transmitted through more perceptual visual symbols. Divert poetry from the text, and let the poetic language become a visual image from a literal message. Taking the ancient Japanese poem "Ancient and Modern Waka Collection" as a research sample, the limitations of text translation in Chinese and Japanese languages were analyzed in the early stage, and then the visual translation of the poem was carried out, and the entry point of visual reproduction will be the relationship between mood and color as a programming means to ** the emotional temperament and atmosphere expressed in the poem, especially in how to express the use of traditional Japanese aesthetics of "mourning", the work combines psychological evolution, emotion, Symbolic analysis and video installations are used to analyze the visual representation of poetry in the ancient and modern Waka collections. In the process of research, focusing on theoretical research is not simply trying to convey a visual representation, but a visual (programming) representation based on perceptual information science is a kind of linear thinking rather than a result of personal feelings, and is committed to emotional expression on the basis of reason, and I believe that the work is not a result, but as a question.

Q: What is the difference between actually coming to school and what you imagined?
A: I think it's very free, because my professors are completely open-ended, so I don't have too many restrictions at all. Since all the majors in the seminar's laboratory are in the same place, I was able to communicate with students from different disciplines on a regular basis, and it was also very helpful for the divergence and expression of my work, and it was a very happy two years for me.
q:Are you busy with lectures and projects? Are there any lectures or topics that you are particularly interested in or have you been thinking about?
A: If you arrange your time reasonably, I personally think you won't be particularly busy. There is a lot of time to concentrate on your own research and the projects you are interested in. Personally, I probably put a lot of effort into using programming to make works, which is not a very simple learning for me, and in essence, it is a change of major, so I have been breaking through in the performance and research of works.
Q: What have you been focusing on lately? What are you interested in?
A: Make money, live.
