According to a number of Thai media sources, the Department of Tourism, Sports and Economy of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand released the latest data on foreign tourists, saying that from December 18 to 24, 2023, the number of foreign tourists to Thailand was 796,808, an increase of 120,303 and 16 from the previous month60%, with an average daily visitor count of 113,830.
According to the data, Malaysia saw the largest number of tourists with 149,409, up 3534%；This was followed by Chinese tourists with 96,662, an increase of 716%；The number of Russian tourists was 47,071, an increase of 750%；South Korea saw 46,060 visitors, up 622%；The number of Indian tourists was 41,679, an increase of 1203%。
Last week, visitors from both Malaysia and Europe saw an increase due to Christmas and the year-end cold season holidays in Europe, with 197,987 European visitors up 32,825 month-on-month. 
This brings the number of visitors to 27,252,488 for the period from January 2023 to December 24, 2023. 
Among them, the top 5 countries in terms of cumulative number of tourists are as follows:
1.Malaysia 4,439,480;2.China 3,418,732;
3.South Korea 1,616,858;4.India 1,587,090;5.Russia 1,428,985. 
In addition, Thailand's Minister of Tourism and Sports Sudarwan revealed that the Tourism Authority of Thailand will hold an "Amazing Festive & Exclusive Trip in Thailand" event, inviting well-known Chinese ** and influential figures to Thailand, aiming to show a positive tourism image through "soft power" and "meaningful travel", enhance tourists' travel confidence and stimulate the economy next year, and is expected to attract 3.5 million Chinese tourists to Thailand next year.
