Zhang Yongbing's flower and bird painting is based on the principle of taking the law from the top, starting from the Song and Yuan dynasties, and then learning from the Ming and Qing dynasties, and the style tries to absorb the characteristics of the five masters of Chinese painting. As he told the editor: "I strive to pursue the simplicity of Muxi, but I know that it is difficult to find it."I tried to grasp Xu Yu's dripping, but I didn't dare to be wanton;I yearn for the eight ethereals, but I know that the ethereals are hard to find;I tried to depict Wu Changshuo's spiciness, but I didn't dare to be hasty and rough;I pursue the vastness of Shiraishi, but I know the vastness of it. The artistic attainments of these masters are profound, and although I have learned from them, they are far from reaching their peak. ”
Zhang Yongbing's landscape paintings are a collection of brushwork from the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as the spirit of Wang Meng, Wang Shigu, Shi Tao, Shi Xi, Huang Binhong, Lu Yanshao and so on. Re-sketching, from natural creations, image programs to the realm of brush and ink, gives a natural ecological view of the unity of nature and man. Emphasizing the "theory of one painting", the brush is born, the ink is splashed, and the trend is swayed to exud the atmosphere, and the subtleties are skillfully managed, forming a kind of coarse and heroic and subtle and subtle high integration. In terms of artistic style, he studied Chinese painting splashed landscape and splashed flowers and birds from Dunhuang rock color and the post-Tang Dynasty Wang Qia splash ink and Zhang Daqian splash color paintings, and advocated a high degree of integration of Eastern philosophy and Western color science and material science in Chinese painting.
