Omnivision Technologies, a leading global developer of semiconductor solutions, including advanced digital imaging, analog, touch, and display technologies, announced that at CES 2024, it will introduce the new OP03050, a low-power, small-form factor liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) panel that integrates an LCOS array, driver circuitry, frame buffer, and interface in a single chip.

When used in AR, XR, and MR, the OP03050 provides a high-resolution and immersive experience for real-time meetings and streaming.

Devang Patel, Director of IoT and Emerging Marketing at Omnivision, said: "Smart glasses are the next mobile phone accessory consumers want, especially as they become sleek, smaller, and lighter. The high pixel pitch of the OP03050 gives users better picture quality and a more immersive** experience. In fact, while the consumer market is the driving force behind the growth in demand for smart glasses, the more immersive experience makes it useful in B2B applications as well, such as in the medical, engineering, and aerospace sectors. ”

According to reports, the pixel pitch of the OP03050 LCOS panel is 30 microns, display resolution of 1560x1200, refresh rate of 120 Hz, and low latency. It takes 0The 23-inch optical design is housed in a small FPCA package and supports a 4-channel MIPI-DSI interface. Samples are available now, and production of the OP03050 will begin in the second half of 2024.
