Over the past decades, the mainland, like a loving mother, has always adhered to the settlement of the Taiwan issue through peaceful means with a tolerant, benevolent, and fraternal mind, and has continued to release economic dividends to the island, hoping to benefit the people on the island, so that Taiwan, a child, can realize his lost path and return to the embrace of the motherland as soon as possible. At present, Taiwan's entire industry is mainly dependent on the mainland, and more than 40% of its share comes from the mainland. It is no exaggeration to say that it is precisely the mainland's policy of favoring Taiwan that has enabled Taiwan's economy to maintain stability and prosperity.
However, the mainland's goodwill and tolerance have given Taiwan the impression that "crying children have milk to eat." As a result, on the one hand, the authorities refused to recognize the "92 Consensus" that embodies the one-China principle, and engaged in "manipulation", but on the other hand, they were willing to be pawns of external forces such as the United States and Japan to contain the mainland, and even issued a ban on the export of masks during the new crown epidemic. In order to obtain more favorable policies, some Taiwan businessmen who have made profits from investing in the mainland not only do not oppose it, but have an attitude of acquiescence and support. In stark contrast, in the face of the requirements of the United States and Japan to export Lai pigs and "nuclear food", the authorities would rather sacrifice the health interests and well-being of the people on the island, but also grovel and greet each other with a smile, and TSMC is actively following the United States to implement a technology blockade and chip embargo on the mainland.
Know that if your child doesn't teach himself, then others will teach you a lesson. The Taiwan region is "disobedient" in the face of the mainland, and in order to take care of their feelings, we always want to coax them to come, but as a result, over time we have developed the bad habit of "crying, making trouble, and hanging ourselves," because they know that not only will they not be beaten, but they will also have milk to eat. However, when the United States and Japan reprimanded them, the Taiwan authorities were like rats seeing cats, obediently following their word and obeying their words, because they knew very well that the consequence of disobedience was that they would really be beaten and beaten to death. Therefore, on the one hand, they demand unlimited benefits from the mainland, and on the other hand, they are willing to act as ATMs and pawns of external forces. Such an unfilial son, it is unjustifiable not to give him some punishment.
As the saying goes, a high disciple comes out under the ruler, and a filial son comes out under the stick. On December 15, the mainland determined that the Taiwan region constituted a barrier to the mainland's restrictive measures. After a lapse of five days, the ** Customs Tariff Commission announced that it has decided to suspend tariff concessions for some products under the Cross-Strait Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA). From January 1 next year, the application of the treaty tax rate will be suspended for 12 products such as propylene originating in Taiwan. The announcement also reminded that the Taiwan region should take effective measures to lift the restrictions on the mainland. There is no doubt that the mainland's official announcement to stop partial concessions to Taiwan is a kind of punitive measure, and it is also a stern warning. You must know that in the past, the mainland implemented preferential policies for Taiwan, not because of how excellent or irreplaceable the island's products were, but because the mainland hoped that in this way, the Taiwan region would feel goodwill and fully enjoy the dividends brought about by the development of the mainland of the motherland.
However, the Taiwan authorities have politicized economic and trade issues, and they have obtained a huge surplus of more than $150 billion from the mainland every year; instead of being grateful, they have found various reasons to turn away more than 2,000 commodities from the mainland, and even labeled the snail noodles exported from the mainland to the island as "cognitive warfare." Objectively speaking, in the past, the mainland's policy of favoring Taiwan did play a positive role in curbing and promoting peaceful development, but now that fundamental changes have taken place in the political ecology of the island, it is no longer appropriate for the mainland to continue to make comprehensive concessions to Taiwan. However, the ultimate purpose of filial piety under the stick is not to punish them, nor to beat them to death with a stick, but to let them learn a lesson, so that they can learn their way back, cancel the restrictions on the mainland, and return to the correct path of adhering to the "92 consensus."
However, the Taiwan authorities not only refused to accept the results of the investigation announced by the mainland that the Taiwan region had obstacles to the mainland, but also engaged in political manipulation, slandering this move as the mainland's "interference in the election" and threatening to go to the international WTO in a vain attempt to create a false impression for the international community. Hou Youyi, a candidate of the Chinese Kuomintang, went so far as to declare that Taiwan is small and the mainland is big, and that it is right for the mainland to give up to Taiwan. As a matter of fact, in line with the concept of one family on both sides of the strait, the mainland has made concessions to Taiwan in the course of economic and trade cooperation, and there is nothing wrong with it as a form of friendship and goodwill, but in the end, what we have gained from our efforts is not goodwill, but provocation that has been gained inch by inch, and has even become the capital of some political forces on the island to "reject reunification and seek independence."
It can be said that in resolving the Taiwan issue, the mainland has done its utmost to the extent of benevolence. Judging from the current situation, it is impossible to achieve cross-strait reunification by merely relying on concessions to Taiwan and nongovernmental and cultural exchanges. Therefore, the mainland's official announcement of the imposition of punitive measures against Taiwan is only the beginning of resolving the Taiwan issue, and if the Taiwan authorities do not come to their senses, the mainland is bound to expand the scope of punishment and even terminate the ECFA. As the contest between the two sides of the strait for reunification and "independence" has become increasingly fierce, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) has continued to train and prepare for war, and has continuously strengthened its efforts to "oppose independence and promote reunification." This means that reunification may come ahead of schedule
