With the continuous impact of the international financial crisis, the deterioration of the global climate, and profound changes in the development environment and conditions at home and abroad, China's economic development has kept pace with the times, showing a variety of new characteristics and trends. China's economy has transformed from high-speed growth to high-quality development, green development has become a new trend of social and economic development, and green economy has become a new economic growth point.
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the relationship between China's economic development and ecological and environmental protection has become more harmonious, and the development of green economy has achieved remarkable results. According to statistics, from 2012 to 2022, the cumulative decline in the energy consumption of industrial units above designated size in China exceeded 36%;The water consumption per 10,000 yuan of industrial added value decreased by 60 percent compared with 20124%；In 2022, the comprehensive utilization rate of bulk industrial solid waste resources exceeded 52%, an increase of nearly 10 percentage points compared with 2012.
Green production has become an important direction for the development of enterprises. In 2022, the power generation of clean energy such as hydropower, nuclear power, wind power, and solar power generation will be 2,959.9 billion kWh, an increase of 8 over the previous year5%。The output of new energy vehicles was 70030,000 units, an increase of 90 over the previous year5%；Solar cell (wide range of cells) production 34 kilowatts, an increase of 468%。The pass rate of routine monitoring of the quality and safety of agricultural products in the country exceeds 976%, and the cumulative number of green, organic and GI agricultural products exceeded 630,000, the total number of effective standard units of green food and organic agricultural products in the country was 27,246, an increase of 10% year-on-year, and the output of green food was 10,80620,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 20%[1]。
Enterprises are becoming the main body of innovation, and the awareness of green transformation is gradually increasing. From 2016 to 2022, the cumulative number of invention patents for green and low-carbon technologies in the world has reached 5580,000 pieces, of which 17 were authorized by Chinese patentees80,000 pieces, accounting for 319%, with an average annual growth rate of 125%, which is significantly higher than the global 25% overall level. From the perspective of innovation subjects, a total of 13 enterprises or units in China have entered the top 50 in the global green and low-carbon technology invention patent authorization. And 8 of these 13 are businesses.
People's awareness of green consumption is constantly increasing. Kantar Sustainability Index 2022 research shows that 57% of global consumers believe that resource waste has a negative impact on the environment, while 64% of Chinese consumers agree.
Green consumption continues to grow. Clean energy consumption accounted for 25% of total energy consumption in 20229%；The sales volume of new energy vehicles reached 68870,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 934%；The proportion of green travel has reached more than 70%;Sales of organic products reached 877600 million yuan;The consumption of green building materials exceeded 20 billion yuan;The proportion of new green floor area increased to 912%。
However, China's green production capacity is still insufficient, regional heavy pollution still exists, and some products do not meet the requirements of ecological civilization and the whole life cycle of the product itself. Green and low-carbon technologies are mainly followed, and some core key technologies are controlled by others, and the proportion of patent invalidation and abstention is high. Green consumption is also affected by many factors, and demand is insufficient.
To achieve steady growth in the green economy and a sustained improvement in the ecological environment, more people are needed to participate. As the main body of green economic transformation, the practice of the whole people is the fundamental guarantee for the realization of the great project of green and low-carbon development. It is necessary to give full play to the publicity, guidance and supervision functions of the first class, cultivate the concept of green development, actively participate in green actions, jointly assume green responsibilities, and gather majestic momentum with bit by bit to help the high-quality development of the green economy.
