In 1993, Shougang Group built a monument pavilion based on concrete structure on the site of the Jinge Temple and Pagoda in Shijingshan, imitating the Buddha Xiang Pavilion of Wanshou Mountain in the Summer Palace. In 2022, Gongbeige will be transferred from Shougang Group to Shijingshan District Culture and Tourism Bureau.
Now, after more than 4 months of protective repairs, the inside and outside of the Gongbei Pavilion have a new look. The damaged walls were sprayed, the roof and pillars of the Gongbei Pavilion were also refurbished, the fire protection system was upgraded internally, and the elevators were replaced. On this basis, the exterior is also equipped with a landscape lighting system, which can present a four-color breathing light effect at night.
The viewing platform at the top of the Gongbei Pavilion Tower has an extremely wide field of vision, and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of western Beijing. After the opening, Shijingshan, where the Gongbei Pavilion is located, will once again attract the attention of the public and become a good place for citizens to climb high and look far away and stroll in western Beijing. According to the relevant person in charge of the Shijingshan District Culture and Tourism Bureau, after the opening of the Gongbei Pavilion, the method of limiting the flow of reservations will be adopted to welcome citizens and tourists in an orderly manner. The first exhibition will open the "Encounter with Classics" Jin Shangyi's classic works printmaking art exhibition, displaying 43 classic prints, including the famous "Tajik Bride", "Huang Binhong in Later Years", "Painter Zhan Jianjun", "Plateau Love" and other works.
