Future.com, Beijing, December 5 (Reporter Lv Haojing) Recently, the 2024 press conference of "Learning for the Earth and Teaching for the Future" hosted by Beijing Qixing Camp Education Consulting *** was held in Beijing. The conference was aimed at 4-10-year-old, 10-15-year-old teenagers and their parents, and invited experts and scholars from the camp association, brain science, psychology, wildlife photography and other industries and practitioners in the education industry to share the theme, focusing on the era of AI, why and what to learn, who to learn and how to learn in the camp education. The significance of values calls on more parents to lead young people into nature and learn Xi grow up in real scenes.
Learn for the planet and teach for the future.
At present, climate warming and biodiversity reduction are common problems faced by mankind, and the theme of this year's conference is 'Xi for Earth', which is precisely in response to UNESCO's call for our next generation to pay attention to the environment, pay attention to sustainable development, return to nature, and re-examine the meaning of learning Xi." Zhao Wei, founder of Qixing Camp Education, said in an interview with a reporter from Future.com.
In 2021, the World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development was held in Berlin, Germany. UNESCO has launched a campaign called "Xi for Earth" to call on the world to invest in ESD and ensure its integration into learning and Xi systems around the world. In Zhao Wei's view, as a member of the education industry, it is the responsibility and obligation to contribute to such a mission.

At the press conference, Harry, head of the Education Innovation R&D Department of Qixing Camp, announced the "Extreme Nature" camp project to be opened in the next year, planning to lead children into 36 biodiversity hotspots around the world, explore the unique landform and climate environment of each place, go deep into the forest, face to face with rare species, measure the natural earth with footsteps, and record nature with video narrative.
In the past three years, Qixing Camp Education has combined Chinese culture with video storytelling to explore cultural diversity, so that young people can get rid of the limitations of geography and social circles, and use the lens to connect with others and multiculturalism during the trip. Picking up the camera and walking into the real scene also allows the children to ask driving questions, understand the logic behind the real operation of the world in order to explore the problems, and then let the children be the problem solvers, which is the goal and effective way to achieve the comprehensive ability and quality improvement Xi of adolescents through project-based learning (PBL).

Harry, a member of the Education Innovation R&D Unit of Qixing Camp, said that in 2024, a new theme will be added to the video narrative, namely biodiversity. "On the one hand, we can help children reconnect with nature, and on the other hand, we will take this opportunity to raise awareness of species, environment, and ecological diversity, and more importantly, let children pay attention to the sustainable development behind it, because it is related to the world and their future. ”
Project-based Xi: From problem discovery to problem solving.
It is reported that Qixing Camp Education provides children of different ages with six project-based learning Xi experiences involving four fields: video narrative, art creation, industrial design, and natural science.

In the project Xi site of "Building a Natural Crisis Shelter", 14 students of similar age focused on the issue of how to build a shelter for human beings in the scene of natural disasters, combined with the high-rise buildings they currently live in, explored a series of problems to be solved by building shelters, and used interdisciplinary knowledge to create shelters with unique functions through experiments, and reflected on the relationship between humans and nature.
In the afternoon, the children were provided with three thematic project Xi: building a natural crisis shelter, shooting a miniature nature documentary, and creative design of nature-inspired products, which they took turns to experience in small groups. A teaching assistant at Qixing Camp Education told reporters.

It is understood that project-based learning Xi, also known as problem-based learning Xi, is a student-centered, through the guidance of teachers, students take the initiative to explore real problems, and obtain deeper knowledge and skills of teaching and Xi learning methods. It mainly covers 7 elements: challenging questions, persistence**, authenticity, students' voice and choice, reflection, evaluation and revision, and public presentation of results.
To establish a PBL (Project Based Learning, Xi for short), the innovation R&D department starts from the top-level design, from the theoretical basis to the practical landing, from the step dismantling to the delivery of results, which is a systematic product of the set. Founder Zhao Wei said that the implementation of a PBL project will even involve more than 100 pages of task lists in different sections to ensure that psychologists, sociologists, anthropologists, education experts, etc. are involved in the process of establishing children's knowledge systems and improving their execution capabilities, and complete them with high quality and ensure the delivery of results.
Camp Education: Changing the way teens experience the world.
To change the world is to change the way young people experience the world. This is the founder Zhao Wei's understanding of what Qixing Camp Education is doing. In her view, in the coming AI era, educators need to cultivate a variety of comprehensive quality abilities that the next generation needs to face future challenges, including continuous focus, organizational communication, and execution of operations.
Video storytelling uses the lens as a medium, so that children can make use of the intelligent tools at hand to complete the topic selection, research and interview, editing and production, and achievement display within a specific time, so that purposeful and designed projects help children truly acquire knowledge and skills. Founder Zhao Wei said, "In another sense, it also helps children turn passive into active in the era of fragmented information absorption, discovering, thinking, exploring problems, and creatively designing products and solutions to solve problems." ”

Camp education and project-based learning Xi are imported products, and they also provide a complementary means for education. When talking about the current development of the two in China, Zhao Wei analyzed that "there are too few people who really understand these", and the lack of talents with corresponding theoretical knowledge and practical ability is a dilemma for the development of the industry. "In the past 15 years, when the company encountered difficulties and faced practical pressures, what supported me to go forward was that I sincerely liked it and liked to get along with the children, and my biggest wish was that our campers could become a member of the Qixing team. ”
In the video narrative, behind each shot is the teenager's self-exploration and development, the experience of the world and culture, from active Xi learners to lifelong Xi, teenagers are using their own strength to understand the world, change the world, we always believe that teenagers can change the world!
