Fault analysis and troubleshooting of Carter loader torque converter
First, the fault phenomenon.
During the operation of the Carter loader, the torque converter failed, which is manifested as: when the machine is working, the engine power is normal, but the torque converter output is weak, and the loader is unable to shovel materials, and it is accompanied by abnormal noise.
2. Analysis of the cause of the failure.
1.Hydraulic fluid issues.
The hydraulic oil is too dirty or deteriorated, and the impurities in it can clog the hydraulic circuit of the torque converter, causing the torque converter to not work properly. At the same time, the air in the hydraulic oil will also affect the flow of the hydraulic oil, resulting in an abnormal sound.
2.The internal seal of the torque converter is damaged.
The seals inside the torque converter are damaged, which can cause hydraulic oil to leak and prevent the torque converter from working properly.
3.Hydraulic system pressure problems.
If the pressure of the hydraulic system is too low or too high, it will affect the normal operation of the torque converter. When the pressure is too low, the torque converter cannot get enough power; When the pressure is too high, the hydraulic oil will generate heat under high pressure, causing the hydraulic system to overheat, which in turn affects the normal operation of the torque converter.
3. Troubleshooting methods.
1.Clean the hydraulic oil tank.
First, clean the hydraulic tank to remove impurities and dirt from it. Then, replace the hydraulic oil with a new one to ensure that the cleanliness and quality of the hydraulic oil meet the requirements.
2.Check the seals.
Check the seals inside the torque converter, and replace them with new ones in time if they are damaged or aging. At the same time, check the seals of the hydraulic system to make sure they are intact.
3.Adjust the hydraulic system pressure.
Adjust the pressure of the hydraulic system so that it is within the appropriate range. If the pressure of the hydraulic system is too low or too high, it is necessary to adjust the pressure regulating valve of the hydraulic pump in time to ensure that the pressure of the hydraulic system is stable.
4.Check the hydraulic circuit.
Check whether the hydraulic oil circuit is smooth and whether there is any leakage. If there is a leak, replace the damaged tubing or seal in time. At the same time, check the cleanliness and quality of the hydraulic oil to ensure that it meets the requirements.
5.Replace the torque converter assembly.
If none of the above methods can be eliminated, it may be that the internal parts of the torque converter are seriously damaged. At this point, the torque converter assembly needs to be replaced. When replacing, attention should be paid to the model and specification that match the original torque converter. At the same time, installation and commissioning are carried out according to the requirements.
4. Preventive measures.
1.Regularly check the quality and cleanliness of the hydraulic oil, and replace the hydraulic oil that does not meet the requirements in time.
2.Regularly check whether the seals of the torque converter and hydraulic system are intact and replace them in time if damaged.
3.Regularly check whether the pressure of the hydraulic system is within the normal range, and adjust it in time if there is any abnormality.
4.Regularly check whether the hydraulic oil circuit is unobstructed and whether there is any leakage.
5.In the process of use, pay attention to the working status of the machine and abnormal noises and other abnormal phenomena, and find and eliminate faults in time.
