Examine yourself every day, "As a human being, is it right to do this?""Is there any arrogance? In this way, the mind is gradually sharpened and improved. —Kazuo Inamori Kazuku.
The so-called introspection is hard workTidy up the garden of the mind
The third of the six points of improvement: "Reflect every day".
At the end of the day, it is important to look back on the day and do some self-reflection.
For example, did you feel unpleasant today? Are you kind to people? Is it arrogant? Are there any cowardly manners? Are there any selfish words and deeds?
It is necessary to look back on your day and check whether your words and deeds are correct.
In your words and deeds, if there is something worth reflecting, even if it is only a little bit, you must correct it.
In order to have a good life, it is very important to temper one's soul and heart through daily reflection.
Do your best, work hard", and "reflect every day", our souls will be purified, and we will become more beautiful and noble.
When I was younger, I was sometimes arrogant. Therefore, as a compulsory course every day, I have to do self-reflection.
I'm ashamed that I can't reflect on it every day, but once I realize it, I reflect on it right away.
The so-called introspection is to cultivate and organize the courtyard of the soul.
As I got older, I read James Allen's The Law of Cause and Effect and was amazed, and that's it
The so-called introspection is to cultivate and organize one's spiritual home. This quote comes from the mouth of the British philosopher of the early 20th century, who is not famous.
I have told you many times, and today, I will introduce it again here.
The human mind is like a courtyard.
It can be cultivated sensibly, or it can be left to be barren.
Whether cultivated or barren, the courtyard will not be empty.
If you don't have beautiful flowers and plants in your garden.
Then the seeds of countless weeds will surely fly down.
Lush weeds will fill your yard.
If you don't sow beautiful flowers and plants in the garden of your heart, weeds will grow there.
That is, if you don't reflect, your heart will be overgrown with weeds.
That's what James Allen said. Next, he wrote:
A good gardener ploughs the yard, removes weeds, and sows beautiful flowers and plants that are constantly nurtured.
In the same way, if we want a good life, we have to plough the garden of our minds, sweep away impure thoughts, and then plant clear, correct thoughts and nurture them.
A good gardener ploughs the yard and removes weeds.
In the same way, we need to plough the courtyard of our hearts by reflecting on them every day to sweep away evil thoughts from our hearts.
Then sow beautiful flowers and plants, and this is the garden where fresh, noble thoughts occupy the heart. Reflect on your own ** heart and cultivate your own kind heart.
That's how James Ellen expressed it, and he expressed it very exactly.
Then, James Ellen said:
When we choose the right thought and let it take root in our minds, we can sublimate into noble people.
If we choose the wrong thought and let it take root in our minds, we will degenerate into beasts.
The seeds of all thoughts that are sown in the mind will only grow the same kind of things, and sooner or later, they will surely blossom into the flowers of deeds and bear the fruits of the environment.
Good thoughts bear good fruits, and bad thoughts bear evil fruits.
Good intentions will bear good fruits, and malicious intentions will bear evil fruits, and this is how he expressed it.
Therefore, please pull out the weeds of your heart, sow the beautiful flowers and plants that you want, and water, fertilize, and manage them carefully.
So says James Ellen.
The metaphor here is self-reflection. Through introspection, we can hone our minds and bring us infinite happiness.
2. Daily introspectionIt is very important for building a person
I have a special Xi.
Every morning, standing in front of the mirror in the bathroom and looking at yourself, the events of the previous day pass by you like a marquee.
At this time, if you recall that you have put on a show and said big things, you will suddenly fall into self-loathing, and you will suddenly be ashamed.
So I couldn't help but apologize loudly: "God, I'm sorry!."”
Occasionally, he would say, "Mother, I'm sorry!".”
Sometimes, they say, "Thank you, God."”
Because it was God who made me realize that I was not, I would like to express my gratitude. This Xi has been going on for nearly 30 years.
So, I don't know when when I was in my bathroom, no one in my family would go in and disturb me.
This is my own method of daily reflection. Since I was young, I was racing against time every day, and I had no time to be depressed and worried.
So, express your introspection aloud every day and take it to heart as a warning to move forward.
This has become Xi and natural.
Daily reflection is crucial to building one's personality.
Examine yourself every day – "Is this the right thing to do as a human being?""Is there any arrogance? In this way, the mind is gradually sharpened and improved.
You only live once. How can such a precious life leave regrets, therefore, we must work hard every day, be optimistic, and at the same time do not forget to reflect on ourselves.
Reflecting on my life of more than 70 years, I am even more convinced that in order to temper my soul and improve my mind, I continue to work hard and "improve" every day, which is the purpose of life and the most proud way to live.
3. It doesn't matter if it's imperfectThe most important thing is to continue to "improve".
The ordination and subsequent practice was a serious and fresh experience for me. From the practice of almsgiving, I have a deeper understanding of the Buddha's compassion.
After I became a monk, I discovered a new world that I had not seen before, and some of my ideas, such as that we must work hard in life, remained unchanged from the past, but after I became a monk, I confirmed this even more.
There is a Zen saying that "before enlightenment, cut down trees and carry water;."After enlightenment, he cut down trees and carried water. ”
After entering the Buddha Gate, I was still working in the dust of the world, but I felt that something had changed in my heart.
For example, through my practice, I felt that I was still immature.
In the past, as a corporate leader, I used to be very good at instructing my subordinates and instructing them. Write down a book or give a lecture about what you think you know very well.
The practice made me realize that there was something sloppy and disgusting lurking in my heart.
Also, one thing that struck me was that the truly amazing people tend to be hidden in the market.
I'm talking about people with beautiful hearts, either kind-hearted old women in the streets or young people in a corner of the city working towards their goals.
Once again, I felt that these unknown people were nobler than some of the famous, wealthy, and so-called successful people, because they were empathetic and selfless in their love for others.
I also have a feeling that no matter how hard we ordinary people try to practice, it is probably impossible for us ordinary people to truly attain enlightenment, and it is impossible for ordinary people to attain enlightenment in the final analysis.
During the ordination ceremony, the teacher asked me if I could keep the ten precepts. I replied that I would obey it well, and then I would be allowed to enter the Buddha's gate.
Even though I took a careful vow and had become a monk, I thought I wouldn't be able to do it myself if I kept them completely.
No matter how hard you try to keep the vows, have the courage to work hard, and spend hundreds of hours in zazen, you still can't step into the realm of enlightenment.
For a person like me, who is weak-willed and unable to completely get rid of his troubles, no matter how much good he does in order to temper his mind, he still cannot completely eliminate his selfish desires and act with altruism at all times.
No matter how hard you try to keep your vows, you will inevitably break them. People myself, including myself, are often stupid, fragile, and imperfect.
However, I don't think it matters if that's it.
If you work towards the state of enlightenment, you will not reach that state in the end. However, the spirit of persisting in working in that direction and never giving up halfway is very valuable in itself.
Even if you don't keep the vows completely, it's important to have the desire to do your best to keep them, the idea that you have to keep them, and the sincere reflection and self-blame when you don't keep them.
If you spend each day with this mentality, then even if you can't reach enlightenment, you can still hone your mind well and get salvation.
4. You must exercise every dayPeople's hearts also need to be wiped diligentlyThe slightest slack will lead to depravity in the blink of an eye
No one is born with a perfect "character".
It is precisely because of this that it is necessary to continue to study Xi philosophy, integrate the philosophy into one's own flesh and blood, and strive to improve one's "personality".
In particular, managers who have a large number of employees and have a great responsibility for society need to take the lead in setting an example and constantly improving their personality and maintaining it at a high level.
Of course, talented managers also recognize the importance of "personality" and have philosophical knowledge that reveals the "right way of life."
But,"Knowing" and "doing" are two different things.
Many operators are satisfied with learning the "correct way of Xi" once, and are unwilling to learn repeatedly, so they "know" but not "do", and only indulge in knowledge.
Just as athletes must exercise every day in order to maintain a strong physique, people's hearts also need to be wiped diligently, and the slightest slack will fall in a blink of an eye.
It is necessary for leaders to repeatedly learn Xi "the right way to behave", make unremitting efforts, and always remain rational.
At the same time, it is also important to review and reflect on your words and deeds every day.
It is important to reflect on yourself every day and to see if you have violated the "right way of life".
In this way, through continuous efforts, people can correct the defects in their innate personality and form a new "personality", that is, a "second personality".
In other words,By repeatedly learning Xi "the right way of life" and incorporating it into one's own flesh and blood, one can continuously improve one's personality and maintain it at a high level.
