According to the Emirates News Agency, the 2022 Sustainable Development Report released by the Ministry of Economic Development (ADDED) in Abu Dhabi showed that waste generation was reduced by 15% in 2022 to reduce emissions and support the UAE's goal of transitioning to a cleaner and greener world.
The report shows that the total amount of waste generated in 2022 decreased by 15%, with a waste of 665 tons, an increase of 78% over the previous year. The report also highlights a 7% reduction in electricity intensity (kWh of employees) and a 2% reduction in total electricity consumption compared to 2021. It is worth mentioning that this and other measures have led to the Abu Dhabi Ministry of Economic Development, being awarded the Green Business Network (GBN) Award for its strong commitment to sustainable development.
