Twenty years after graduation, I attended a high school reunion, and to my surprise, more than half of us who were about to cross the threshold of 40 chose to stop working. This led me to think about struggle and suspension.
Like a group of people from ordinary counties, there are many similarities in the growth trajectory, most of them were born in ordinary families, but after the college entrance examination, they went their separate ways, some went to first- and second-tier cities, worked hard in their respective fields, and some started their own businesses, but they just worked for themselves, but more people chose to take the public examination and returned to their hometowns or surrounding countiesWhere did the choice of shutdown come from?
After further discussion, I found that the reasons behind the seemingly similar results are very different: some classmates have good family conditions, their husbands have successful careers, and they no longer need to run for a living; Some are facing a 35+ mid-life crisis, or they are not important or directly dismissed, and they have to "start a business" or "flexible employment", and they have to reopen a new path after half of their lives; And there are still trapped on the road of parenting, so I have to say goodbye to my career ...... for the time beingFor a variety of reasons, they made the choice to quit the workplace.
After listening to what they had to say, I couldn't help but fall into deep thought. Once upon a time, the post-80s generation was known as the "mainstay" of the workplace, but as everyone knows, more post-80s generations who have not climbed to the top of the pyramid are forced to put themselves in an embarrassing situation. Those who come out at the age of 22 must have experience, those who are too old after the age of 35, and those who retire too early at the age of 60Those who are still struggling can only come after a thousand sails have passed;Choosing to suspend is a compromise in desperation. Achievements should not be of any age. We are all moving forward in the torrent of time, and our efforts should not stop. And this workplace has stricter requirements for women, and they will always be asked how to take care of it.
I once met a lady who loved her career, she found a way to work from home in addition to raising children, and ran a small online store while taking care of her children, she used her wisdom to balance family and career. In my opinion, this is a case of successful struggle and shutdown.
We can also strive to improve ourselves and keep up with the times. Learn new skills and keep up with the situation so you can succeed in the workplace. Like a friend of mine, who decided to return to school in her 40s and earned a certificate in a computer-related major, which led her to a promotion as a data analyst at her former company.
For struggle, I am more inclined to understand the mentality: struggle is not to work hard, but to maintain an enterprising mentality. For stoppages, I value smart responses: stopping is not the end, but for the next starting point. Finding a balance between multiple roles and making wise choices in the midst of struggle and pause is the essence of life. I remember that when we graduated from high school, we were full of enthusiasm to break out of a world, time flies, vicissitudes, stumbling in society, our original intention is still there, but more peaceful and wise to look at all this. When someone chooses to stop, it doesn't mean they give up, but they start for the next oneThere are people who continue to struggle, and it's not all for money.
There is still a long road in life, so why be greedy for a momentary high and low. Move forward in your own way on the track of your own life, just like the sentence in the textbook - we will all have a bright future.
