A Brief Look at the Racial Problem in the United States

Mondo International Updated on 2024-01-31

At present, the racial problem in the United States is mainly caused by identity politics, and of course, it is also a historical problem.

Strip away the white man's disguise

The racial problem in the United States is not said on the surface, and racial discrimination is being played with an attitude of "can't be provoked, can be hidden", and this kind of discrimination is called "** discrimination".

Discrimination on the surface is almost non-existent, only ** discrimination remains. And **discrimination can be understood as a small circle, in which outsiders are not brought to play, and the enclosure is self-sprouting. It's just that this kind of small circle is not divided according to acquaintances, hobbies, etc., but according to ethnicity.

The classic question - a white man takes the elevator and two blacks come in. The white man exited the elevator. If this kind of behavior is called discrimination, then the world is hopeless. But you say it's not discrimination, it's very "racist".

America's racial problems are superimposed by countless white people taking elevators. It's hard to change, but it doesn't seem to be particularly serious to say how serious it is. The Ku Klux Klan (is a group in American history that pursues white supremacy and represents racism in the United States. The word ku-klux is derived from the Greek word kukloo, which means assemblyKlan is ethnic. Because the three prefixes are K, it is called the Three Klans Party. Originally known as the White Race Assembly, it was also known as the White Alliance, the Invisible Empire. is a thing of the past, and there is no discrimination on the surface. Americans are now ostriches, as if they could not see.

American School Life

The United States is a typical multi-racial, multi-ethnic country, with multi-racial people from all over the world gathered since its founding.

For a long time, although people of all ethnic groups have made their own contributions to the development of American society, American society has not been created equal, as its constitution proclaims.

The current population of the United States is 2800 million, of which whites still make up the majority, there are 1800 million, or about 63% of the total U.S. population. Most of these people are from Europe, but a few or their ancestors have emigrated from North Africa and the Middle East. Since the founding of the United States, these people have been the subject of American society. Hispanics, blacks, Asians, Indians and Alaska Natives, Hawaiian and other Pacific Islanders, who are among the ethnic minorities of the United States, are followed by Hispanics, blacks, Asians, Indians, Alaskalians, Hawaiians, and other Pacific Islanders.

International students

The author has traveled to the United States more than 20 times, and I have to say that all Chinese and even Asians living in the United States must face the unavoidable problem of multiculturalism and ethnic politics in the United States.

I have to admit that on the issue of ethnicity, especially when it comes to African-Americans, that is, blacks, the feelings of most Chinese Americans may be different, but I still think that the majority of Chinese Americans have a misconception of race.

American studentsEthnic politics is essentially a discursive and institutional instrument dominated by the majority of the population.

In the United States, the taxonomy of race and ethnicity was itself developed by the white elite. While many elite white anthropologists consider themselves to be the spokesmen of China's ethnic minorities, they never seem to consider racial and ethnic divisions within the United States, which are equally vague and troubling for non-whites.

Often when filling out the form, you may be asked questions about your personal background: why Asians are often broken down by country of origin, white Europeans are not broken down by country of origin, why Jews are not singled out, and why all ** people are asked separately whether they are "latinos or hispanics." In fact, I have encountered two people of Jewish descent who are not visible on the outside and take the initiative to say "I am Jewish" in private, as if to get closer to me as a "Chinese", or who do not think that they are absolutely comfortable white people. But even most Native Americans probably don't think much about the doorway here, and all I can say is that everything is political.

Black***The white academic elite of the United States does not care whether the racial and ethnic divisions in the country are completely reasonable in the eyes of minorities, nor do they care that to this day, non-white colleagues (mainly Asian and African-American) in American colleges and universities are all legally labeled as "faculty of color", let alone whether the labeled colleagues accept, thank, doubt, or resist. In short, "colored professors", like non-ferrous metals, cannot get rid of their own attributes.

I've seen Asian female professors who proudly reprimanded black students and uttered the phrase "No one dares to mess with you but I'm not afraid of you," but I'm curious to see how she feels about her identity when she too has to be a member of the "faculty of color" or have a pizza lunch where only professors of color are presentBecause she is also a person of color, she thinks she dares to break through the "political correctness" taboo of white professors and slap in the face of black studentsOr is it out of innermost discrimination?

American police deal with blacks

What I want to say is that all the demographic politics, identity label politics, and the moral posture of going to other countries to incite minorities are all in fact to satisfy the white elite's play of holding power, controlling the overall situation, and occupying the moral high ground.

Quite simply, when they want to be the spokesperson of a minority in another country, they should think about whether the local minority elite of another country is more representative of their own national language and determines their own identity, or whether a white American anthropology professor who has only studied the national language for a few months is more representative.

In this case, African Americans have in fact been under the absolute superiority and authority of white people for a long time, and it is only through the peaceful and violent struggle of the black American leaders Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X that they have won a place for African Americans and a certain degree of moral guilt on the part of whites.

But even so, discrimination is still pervasive. I've heard retired white female professors lament how difficult it was to become a "female history professor" from a gender perspective, while commenting on the new black professor that he was not too threatening. Here, the female professor was a victim of gender discrimination in the sense of gender, but when she was also successful and about to retire, she also stood in a racially superior position to criticize black male scholars, which shows that discrimination is deeply engraved in her heart. The black historian himself makes no secret of the fact that driving on the highway is more likely to be stopped by the police, and that he is not unfamiliar with the stereotypical image of black people who have historically been given a toothy grin, and who sometimes has to put on the "cool pose" that society (still essentially a white elite) expects.

Black people fightEven if we only focus on the information disseminated, we can actually note that the law and order cases and riots involved in black Americans are mostly related to the economic situation.

Many times, blacks will tragically shoot a Chinese student for a laptop, and indeed loot goods in shopping malls, but most of the large-scale indiscriminate ** case makers are whites, that is, white extremists who are still having a bad time in this kind of system that already enjoys considerable privileges.

But looting is not the same as mass shooting. In terms of coping strategies, if the robbery is just to get a laptop computer to sell for money, the victim can completely give up the computer to save his life (of course, every student and scholar must make a backup of their important documents and data), but large-scale ** is impossible to prevent, and the strong pathological hatred reflected in it, and the bandit mentality of looting property due to poverty is not the same. However, many Chinese Americans seem to only see the harm of robbery and homicide, and do not think about the large-scale horror and unguardability, and some Chinese elites are still on the side of the abuser, to sympathize with the white abuser's sense of loss and mental pressure.

Immigration issuesGoing back to the example of the Asian American history professor who angrily scolded black students and thought she was courageous, I can responsibly say that the most cranky, scoundrel, and most aggressive are all white American students.

In expensive schools with an overwhelming white majority, black students generally show more caution, sincerity, and respect, if not academic excellence. They cherish learning opportunities, have a genuine interest in the content, maintain their demeanor even when there are objections, and some students write very good research**.

Among those who are also highly educated, my personal feeling for many years has always been that highly educated blacks are more sincere, more authentic, and more reliable than highly educated whites. But many people don't seem to observe at this level, just staring at the riots of the black people at the bottom, as a contrast to the well-dressed and lotus-tongued white middle-class people. If we compare low-level whites with low-level blacks, middle-level whites versus middle-class blacks, and college students versus college students, and pay attention to the role of education as a variable, I think we will get out of the misunderstanding of being guided by news hotspots and gain new perspectives, after all, the news will only focus on ** sexual events, and will not delve into the subtleties of daily life.

Blacks are on the streets

The author believes that the main cause of racial discrimination is the social, political and economic system that dominates and oppresses ethnic minorities, which cannot be seen or touched, but is relative to the discrimination of ethnic minorities by individuals.

From the beginning, "colored" was considered inferior, and since then, laws, customs, traditions have perpetuated and exacerbated this attitude. For example, when a person uses the words "black man" "" to express his feelings, he does not mean to insult a particular black person, but he inadvertently expresses a prejudice against all black people, including those of color. Although this is only an example of language itself, we can clearly see from it that the existing language, customs, customs, laws, beliefs, etc., together deny the equality of minorities, and most of them are subconscious. Facts show that the United States has not taken practical actions to improve the living environment of blacks and other ethnic minorities and narrow the gap between them and whites in all aspects. We recognize that this discrimination has historical roots, but it has been reinforced by the fact that the existing social system has not eliminated it. Therefore, without a thorough reform of the social system, it is difficult to eliminate systemic discrimination.

Get along in harmonyThe development of the United States and the ethnic minorities that make up American society are inseparable, but judging from the unfair treatment caused by different skin colors and different cultures, ethnic minorities do not belong to this American society that has always advocated freedom and equality.

The prosperity of American society and its international standing are largely due to the hard work and efforts of these minorities, not to the overwhelming majority of whites. Today, the equality and justice demanded by some ethnic minorities have been achieved, but unfortunately, poverty, prejudice and injustice still exist. How to fundamentally improve the unequal status and conditions of blacks (including people of color) and other minorities is a fundamental and big problem in American society. However, this big problem has not yet been put on the agenda of the United States and political parties, and of course there is no hope for a solution. Even the United States** has to admit that there is racism, racial discrimination, and de facto segregation in the United States, and that the inequality faced by minorities remains one of the most serious and unsolvable challenges in the United States.
