On October 15, at the 4th China Computer Federation Integrated Circuit Design and Automation Conference (CCF DAC) OpenDCS Open Source EDA Forum, the Key Laboratory of Integrated Circuit Manufacturing Technology of the Institute of Microelectronics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Chinese Academy of Sciences) released the open source amorphous silicon thin film transistor TFT process PDK. Li Zhiqiang, a researcher from the Key Laboratory, made a release report.
Thin-film transistors are widely used in flat panel displays, memories, and sensors. Among them, A-Si TFT devices have the advantages of low temperature process, simple preparation process and high yield, and have become the mainstream technology of LCD active drive circuits. At present, the industrial production technology of A-SI TFT continues to develop in the direction of larger screen size and lower production cost. The PDK based on the A-SI TFT process is a bridge between flat panel display foundries, EDA vendors, and IC design companies. The PDK suite can help customers shorten the design cycle, ensure the correctness of chip functions, and improve the competitiveness of product design.
The open-source amorphous silicon TFT process PDK released this time aims to provide more efficient, reliable and customizable chip design solutions for flat panel displays, memory and sensors.
The research team of this key laboratory has carried out long-term research and innovation in A-SI TFT process technology, and has accumulated rich experience and achievements. The PDK kit released this time is based on the team's research results, which have been continuously optimized and improved, and finally formed this complete open-source PDK kit that can be directly used for chip design.
The PDK suite includes a complete process flow, circuit design, layout design and test solution, which can provide chip design companies with more efficient and reliable design solutions, help them shorten the design cycle and improve product competitiveness. At the same time, the PDK kit also supports customized design, which can be personalized according to the needs of different customers to meet the special needs of customers.
The release of the open-source amorphous silicon thin-film transistor TFT process PDK is not only an important contribution to the field, but also injects new vitality and impetus into China's integrated circuit industry. In the future, the key laboratory will continue to devote itself to the research and innovation of integrated circuit manufacturing technology, and make greater contributions to China's integrated circuit industry.
