In 2011, director Ryo Takeuchi and his team came to the beautiful Shangri-La to shoot the documentary "The Great Chronicle of the Yangtze River".
Just when he was worried that there was no shooting material, a little Tibetan girl holding a little lamb suddenly broke into his lens.
When the little girl took off her mask, everyone's eyes lit up:
The big clear eyes looked at them like a deer in the mountains.
At this moment, the gears of fate quietly began to turn.
No one would have thought that a chance encounter would change the life of a Tibetan girl.
The girl's name is Tsem, a Tibetan, who was born in 1993, when she was 17 years old.
There are four people in the family, father, mother, and a sister who is 6 years younger than her.
According to Tibetan Xi traditions, the earliest children born in the family, both male and female, will become "family members" in the future, and they must stay at home forever to take care of their elders and raise their children.
Therefore, Zim knew from a very young age that she could not go far away.
But she still often comes up with "unrealistic" thoughts.
She wants to study hard, be admitted to university, and be an excellent ** family in a big city in the future.
But that dream soon came to an end.
When she was in the fourth grade of elementary school, her grandfather, who was supporting her education, died, and she had to give up her studies.
After that, Csim began to keep his family busy.
She has to take care of her elderly grandmother and young sister, as well as do farm work and solicit tourists to take pictures in scenic spots.
After a few years, her parents thought that she was old enough to start a family, so they set up a family affair for her.
Tsm didn't even know what the other party looked like.
is obviously a standard post-90s generation, but where she lives and her life, there are too many places that have not kept up with the pace of the times.
On that day, as usual, Csim held a little lamb in his arms and braved the strong wind to solicit tourists to take pictures in the scenic area.
Take a photo for 5 yuan, this money is used to subsidize the family.
However, there are few tourists, and sometimes they stand for more than ten hours in the cold wind, and no tourists are willing to come forward to take pictures.
It was at this time that she broke into the lens of director Ryo Takeuchi.
You're making a movie, huh?”
Cimu's curious eyes and green smile, like a mountain deer, made the eyes of director Ryo Takeuchi and host Dongdong shine.
The group took a picture of Zim and started chatting.
For Zim, the outside world is out of reach, and these people from the big city in front of him are like a window to the outside world.
She asked the program team: "How far is it from here to Shanghai?"”
The host Dongdong replied: "It only takes 4 hours. ”
Csim's eyes widened in disbelief:"Isn't it?Shangri-La is only four hours away from Shanghai”
Dongdong: "That's right. ”
Zim asked how many people could sit on the plane, whether the plane could fly if it wanted to, and whether there was a way to fly in the sky....
On that day, Csim, who had never been far away, excitedly asked the program team a lot of questions.
Faced with the girl's series of questions, Dongdong patiently answered them one by one.
And for his answer, Csim always felt incredible:
Wow, wouldn't it?How is this possible?I don't believe it....”
In 2011, Zimu (second from left) and Dongdong (third from left) took a group photo.
The next day, the program team came to Zm's house and wanted to add some material to the documentary.
Seeing Zimu's childish face, the host Dongdong had an idea in his heart, he wanted to take this girl to the bustling Shanghai to have a look.
Before leaving, Dongdong asked for the opinion of Zim's family, but was rejected by Uncle Zim on the spot.
Csim is about to get married, and running outside is not good for his reputation. Besides, what if these people have bad intentions....
At parting, Cim said goodbye to everyone in silence.
Despite the loss in her heart, she never cried, and she was so sensible that it was distressing.
Sometimes, though, fate is just that.
One month later, things took a turn for the better.
After the program team left, Csim's mother went back and forth several times, and finally persuaded the other family members.
She is an enlightened mother who hopes that her daughter will have the opportunity to go out for a walk, and not be like her, confined to the family all her life, not knowing what to live for.
Finally, the whole family agreed and dialed the ** left by the program team when they left.
Dongdong, the host who was waiting at the airport, looked very excited when he saw Zimu and Zimu's mother, and they were a little incoherent.
For Csim, this trip was like traveling through time and space.
For the first time in my life, I got on a plane, the first time I took a subway as fast as an airplane, and I saw a high-rise building with more than 100 floors.
Countless high-rise buildings and fashionably dressed passers-by are the deepest impressions of Shanghai.
After 17 years of life, she saw the world outside Shangri-La for the first time.
At night, Cimu stood by the Huangpu River and listened to Dongdongge's storytelling.
She learned that the Yangtze River, which originated on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, would pass by the Zhongdian River in her hometown of Shangri-La, where it would meet the Huangpu River, the last tributary, and then flow into the East China Sea
Since then, a magnificent life has begun.
Good times are always short-lived.
In the blink of an eye, Csim's trip was over, and he embarked on the way back.
After returning home, Csim never went far again.
But the scene she saw in Shanghai was unforgettable.
She could clearly feel a pry move somewhere inside herself.
Through the clear stream, she saw in her own eyes the airplanes in the sky, and the cattle and sheep nearby.
Three months later, the program team received a letter from Zim.
She said that Shanghai was unforgettable for her and gave her a new dream.
She wants to open a small inn, and if her dream comes true, she hopes that the program team can help promote it.
The program team was very happy about Zimu's ambition, but they didn't expect that this little girl would be so tenacious.
Make dreams come true.
In the blink of an eye, 10 years have passed.
In 2022, director Ryo Takeuchi decided to revisit the road he traveled back then in order to shoot the documentary "Meet the Yangtze River Again".
When he came to Shangri-La, he thought of the Tibetan girl holding the sheep, and the past came to mind
You're here to make a movie, huh?”
Is there a way for an airplane in the sky?”
Do they fly if they want to?”
With the memories of the past, Ryo Takeuchi came to the village where Cimu was.
Guided by passers-by, he saw a street sign that read:Rinchen Tsem Beauty.
The English "aurora" on the street sign is the English letter of the glowing light sign on the top of a high-rise building that he saw on the Bund 10 years ago.
Further on, a luxurious and beautiful B&B comes into view.
It was Zm who drove it.
At this moment, Ryo Takeuchi's goosebumps were about to rise.
He didn't expect that Zim would really realize his dream.
The reunion after a long absence made Cim very excited.
She faded away from her youth, and generously introduced her homestay to the director.
Zim said that after going to Shanghai, she learned that there was a bathroom in the room.
Tibetan B&Bs have never had this, not even shower rooms.
It was at that moment that she moved the idea of opening a homestay.
After returning, she soon got married and had children.
But the flame of dreams has never been extinguished for a moment.
When the child was a little older, she began to learn Xi experience at a famous local homestay.
She is not afraid of hardship or tiredness, and most importantly, she has an endless desire to explore.
In a few years, she was promoted from logistics to store manager.
That seems like enough.
After all, this is something that other ordinary Tibetan girls can't even think of.
But only Zim knows that this is not enough.
In any case, she wants to open a homestay and realize her self-worth.
So, she made a very bold decision to borrow more than 1 million from the bank.
In this way, there is this homestay in front of me.
What surprised the director even more was the change in the Cim family.
The uncle who tried his best to prevent Zimu from going to Shanghai back then no longer blocks the girl's footsteps.
Now he said, not to mention going to Shanghai, even if you go abroad.
In the past, Csim got married at the age of 18, but now her sister said that she wanted to consider marriage after the age of 30, and her mother didn't want to say:
It's your freedom, even if you get married at 40.
A century-old tradition has changed in just 10 years.
And this change is due to the trip to Shanghai.
She saw modern civilization and brought it to this remote area.
She is using her own efforts to change her hometown little by little.
At the end of the documentary, there is an easter egg.
Zimu said that whenever she picked up the lamb and walked to the place where she met the program team, she would think of the host Dongdong.
It was Brother Dong Dong who took her to Shanghai, and it was Brother Dong Dong who made her understand that there was another way to live in her life.
However, Dong Dong was unable to accompany him during this shooting.
Perhaps seeing Zim's regrets, director Ryo Takeuchi dialed Dongdong's ***
The moment he saw Dongdong, Cim said hello excitedly:
Hello, do you remember me?”
When the words fell, I couldn't hold back my tears anymore.
From beginning to end, Csim did not dare to look at Dongdong.
The most beautiful and sincere feelings in the world are all revealed at this moment.
And Dongdong knew that after Zim realized his dream, he spared no effort to praise her:
"There are many people who can think of it, but there are very few people who can do it.
You are brave and strong. ”
At this point, the story of Zim came to an end.
There are many people below the documentary who say that Cim has a different affection for Dongdong.
But I think this can't be called love, love is too pale in front of this story.
The encounter ten years ago was a huge impact of modern civilization on Cim.
No matter who the storyteller is, I think Csim will have different feelings in his heart.
The trip to Shanghai is a collision and fusion of old and new concepts.
The change of people begins with concepts.
A person's destiny can completely change direction because of a small thing, a simple conversation, a passing passerby, and this is precisely the wonder of life.
No one can ** the beginning of their own life, nor can they ** the end of their life. Regrets are also the inevitable imprints left by the years.
I would also like to believe that Csim is happy.
She is kind and hardworking, willing to make changes for a better life, and knows how to cherish the fate of meeting in Pingshui 10 years ago.
At the end of writing, I thought of the director's emotional sentence:
If there is no first bay of the Yangtze River, where will the river of life of the Chinese nation go?”
So, if this little Tibetan girl didn't have the encounter ten years ago, what kind of life would she be living now?
The Yangtze River, the Yangtze River, you are magnificent, and the water flows for a long time.
In the face of the magnificent world and nature, the girl's heart and children's feelings seem too small, but these small and insignificant moments really constitute a different life.
Perhaps in this life, there should be turbulence and incompleteness, like the Yangtze River, which will always flow forward and never return.
