Mondo Education Updated on 2024-01-30

The 7th session of the Daily Business Daily Autism Painting Public Welfare Class was successfully concluded, and 14 students from 5 Peizhi schools in Hangzhou participated in this semester's learning.

A new Year of the Dragon is coming, and the public welfare desk calendar "Dragon 2024" designed with the paintings of these students has been produced. At the same time, the original painting exhibition of the desk calendar "Hualong 2024 - Public Welfare Painting Exhibition for Mentally Disabled Youth" is being exhibited at the Charity Federation of Yuhang District, Hangzhou. This exhibition is guided by the Zhejiang Charity Federation, and co-sponsored by the Daily Business Daily, the Hangzhou Yuhang District Charity Federation, Cloud Public Welfare, and China-Korea Life Insurance.

Since its inception in 2020, the public welfare class has received strong support from Peizhi schools such as Hangzhou Health Experimental School, Hangzhou Linping District Tingzhou School, Hangzhou Genshan Road School, Hangzhou Yang Ayazi School, Hangzhou Hushu School, and Hangzhou Bauhinia School. As a public welfare partner, Sino-Korea Life Insurance has also accompanied these special students for many years.

part.1Another year, the eighth year

Sunflowers in 2017, Countryside in 2018, World Famous Paintings in 2019, Return to Dunhuang in 2020, Immortals Here in 2021, Tiger Fu in 2022, Fulu in 2023, and Dragon in 2024.

Every year, our charity partner, Sino-Korea Life, designs a charity desk calendar using children's drawings. Before you know it, it's already the 8th book.

The scene of the original painting exhibition "Hualong 2024".

This year's public welfare calendar has two themes, "Chinese Dragon" and "Environmental Life", and the paintings come from 12 Peizhi schools in Hangzhou, Wenzhou, Ningbo, Shanghai, Wuhan, Jiuquan, etc., which is the most extensive radiation in the past years, and these desk calendars will be sent to all teachers and students in the participating schools.

Scan the code to put the finishing touch

The design element on the front of the desk calendar is the "Chinese Dragon" series of paintings, in which mentally handicapped teenagers from all over the country depict a variety of Chinese dragon images, some are simple and heavy, some are majestic, and some are full of their whimsy, which is the original Chinese dragon.

In the lower left corner of the front of the desk calendar, there is also a *** called "finishing touch", and a three-dimensional animation generated by the student's drawings will appear when you sweep it, which is very interesting.

The design element on the back of the desk calendar is the "Green Life" series of paintings. Shi Wei from Ningbo Damin School painted "Green Travel", Ming Wei from Wenzhou Special Education School painted "Beautiful Fish in the River", and Zihan from Hangzhou Hushu School painted "Do You Sort Your Garbage Today", and the students reminded everyone to take care of the environment and live a green life with their brushes.

Since 2016, Sino-Korea Life has been committed to caring for young people with mental disabilities and is the most reliable partner of this charity project. They practice the corporate culture of "love without words, by your side" by supporting public welfare art exhibitions, public welfare art classes, and making public welfare desk calendars.

part.2How to learn to draw ChinaDragon?

It is recorded in the "Erya Wing" that the dragon "has horns like a deer, a head like a camel, eyes like a rabbit, a neck like a snake, a belly like a mirage, scales like a fish, claws like an eagle, palms like a tiger, and ears like a cow". The dragon is an animal in ancient Chinese mythology, which no one has ever seen. In order to let the students understand what the Chinese dragon is and draw the Chinese dragon well, the teachers of the public welfare class have thought of a lot of ways. This semester's "Chinese Dragon" series of courses, there are a total of seven sessions, namely "What is the body of a Chinese dragon like?"."Chinese Dragons on Cultural Relics", "Chinese Dragons and Symbols", "Chinese Dragons' Postures", "Dragons and Patterns", "Dragons and Continuous Patterns", "Outdoor Lessons: Going to the Zoo to Find Chinese Dragons".

Through cultural relics**, I will learn different Chinese dragon images in various periods with my classmates, from the C-shaped jade dragon of Hongshan culture, to the dragon patterns on the bronzes of the Shang and Zhou dynasties, to the various dragon-shaped jade pendants of the Han Dynasty, to the most familiar dragon images of the Qing Dynasty.

From simple to complex, it not only allows students to know more about the shape of dragons, but more importantly, allows students of all ability levels to find their own painting goals.

In the two lessons of "Dragon and Pattern" and "Dragon and Continuous Pattern", the teacher combined the basic "point, line and surface" of painting composition with the traditional cloud and thunder pattern, back pattern and bead pattern that often appear on Chinese bronzes, as well as the organization method of "bipartite continuous pattern and corner pattern" commonly used in ancient Chinese buildings, and guided the students to draw paintings with more complex ornamentation and more details.

In order to design a curriculum that is more suitable for these students, the teachers of the public welfare classroom also went to Hangzhou Health Experimental School and Tingzhou School in Linping District of Hangzhou to audit the courses and learn from the school's art teachers.

They have arranged more interactive sessions in this semester's courses, such as "posing as a dragon with your body" and "going to the zoo to find a Chinese dragon", etc., which not only make the course more interesting, but also allow students to have a more intuitive understanding.

For example, Xu Fulin, a student from Hangzhou Health Experimental School, observed at the zoo that the dragon's tail was like a small goldfish and its claws were like a golden eagle. Regarding the mane of the dragon, some students thought that it looked like a lion, some thought it looked like the mane of a horse, and some students liked the gorgeous feathers of the white pheasant, and thought that the color of the dragon should be the same as that of the white flycatcher.

part.3Art education is equal

"Autism Painting Public Welfare Class" is a public welfare project initiated and hosted by the Daily Business Daily, which mainly serves the mentally handicapped youth groups represented by autistic students (including autism, Down syndrome, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, etc.) and their families. With "art + public welfare" as the main form, the project advocates the society to pay attention to the mentally handicapped youth group and promotes the development of art education in China.

The public welfare classroom recruits students from Peizhi School in Hangzhou, and the courses are specially customized for these special students, and all courses are free for students. Since its launch in 2020, seven public welfare classes have been successfully held, which have been well received by students and parents, as well as affirmed by experts and society from all walks of life.

We advocate that everyone has the right to receive high-quality art education, and in the future, public welfare classes will continue to be held.
