This year is the first year for the full implementation of the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the 45th anniversary of reform and opening up, and the 10th anniversary of the Third Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Over the past 45 years, from the beginning of a new period to the beginning of a new century, from standing at a new starting point to entering a new era, our party has led the people to paint a magnificent and magnificent historical picture scroll, and composed a song of struggle that touches the heavens and the earth and magnificently mountains and rivers.
In order for China to seize the opportunities, meet the challenges, and achieve new and greater development, it fundamentally depends on reform and opening up. "From 1978 to 2023, the spring tide of reform rolling forward has created a vigorous development of today's China;From 2012 to 2023, the banner of reform raised higher promoted the irreversible historical process. Over the past 45 years, especially in the past ten years of the new era, reform and opening up have made great achievements that have attracted worldwide attention, greatly changing the face of China, the Chinese nation, the Chinese people, and the Communist Party of China. The results of practice have created two miracles, namely, rapid economic development and long-term social stability, which have forcefully confirmed and eloquently demonstrated that reform and opening up is the only way to uphold and develop socialism with Chinese characteristics, a key move to determine the fate of contemporary China, and the most distinctive banner of our party in the new historical period.
The magnificent course of 10 years and the brilliant achievements of the past 10 years have strongly demonstrated that reform and opening up is the most significant feature and the most magnificent atmosphere of contemporary China. By the end of 2020, a total of 2,485 reform plans have been launched in all aspects, and the reform goals and tasks proposed by the Third Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China have been completed as scheduledSince 2017, it has maintained its position as the largest country in goods for 6 consecutive years, and its international export market share will further increase to 14 in 20227%, ranking first in the world for 14 consecutive years;The share of the total economy in the world economy has increased from 123% has risen to more than 18%, and its average annual contribution to world economic growth is more than 30% ......Numbers are abstract, and numbers are the most convincing. Looking back on the great practice of reform and opening up, and sorting out the important experience and positive achievements of our party in leading the people to further promote reform and opening up in the past ten years in the new era, people all empathize with the "only way" of reform and opening up, and also deeply realize that reform and opening up is the key choice that determines China's destiny.
Reform and opening up is a brand-new undertaking without precedent, and we must adhere to the correct approach and advance it in continuous practice and exploration. "The great changes brought about by reform and opening up since the new era rely on the guidance of the banner of new ideas, on the direction of the helm, on the unity of the whole country around the country, dare to gnaw hard bones, dare to wade into dangerous beaches, all the way through the barriers, all the way to break through the barriers, all the way to build momentum. In the past 10 years, we have made great efforts to enhance the systematic, holistic and coordinated nature of reform, overcome a series of major risks and challenges, solved many long-term problems that we wanted to solve but did not solve, and accomplished many major things that we wanted to do but did not do in the past.
Reform and opening up is a key move that will determine the fate of contemporary China, and it is also a key move that will determine the success or failure of Chinese-style modernization. There is no end to the development of practice, the emancipation of the mind, and the reform and opening up. Looking back at the magnificent journey of reform and opening up since the new era, it is not only a profound summary of experience and achievements, but also an affectionate review of the original intention of reform. On the magnificent journey of building a strong country and rejuvenating the nation, we must always maintain the spirit of "breaking through", the momentum of "creating", and the style of "doing", and strive to take the "only road" of reform and opening up with the courage and perseverance of opening up the road in the mountains and building bridges in the water, continue to write a more wonderful "spring story", and constantly create new and greater miracles that impress the world.
