Plymouth Argentina and Birmingham City played out a superb 3-3 draw in the Championship, with Plymouth's Morgan Whitaker equalising in the 86th minute. Shortly after the start of the game, Birmingham's Jay Stansfield was replaced by Emmanuel Longello after picking up an injury after a collision with Lee Buchanan. Five minutes later, Stansfield's substitute header was the goal of Van Hutana's cross. Plymouth had a chance to equalise when Whitaker curled the ball very close.
However, Birmingham extended their lead just before half-time when Jordan James volleyed in Van Hutana's cross. Plymouth responded quickly and Joe Edwards scored in the 43rd minute due to a mistake by Birmingham captain Dion Sanderson. There was plenty of stoppage time in the first half due to Buchanan's injury, during which Plymouth came close to equalising through Julio Pregueslo's header. Birmingham were sent off in the second half for a foul on Christian Bijelik on Jordan Howe.
It seemed to fuel Birmingham's fighting spirit, who doubled their lead with Van Hutana's long-range shot. However, Plymouth counter-attacked and substitute Mikel Miller's cross led to an own goal by Mark Roberts. Plymouth completed the fight in the 86th minute when Whitaker fired a powerful shot from outside the box. The draw means Plymouth still haven't found a permanent manager, while Birmingham will be disappointed to let a two-goal lead slip away. Both teams showed tenacity and attacking intent in a good game.
