Ali Youth Cloud's "Public Welfare Lecturer Group" is here!
Recently, 13 Alibaba engineers from Alibaba Cloud, Taotian, international digital business, local life and other businesses formed the first batch of "public welfare lecturer groups" to teach more than 110,000 students in 162 rural schools across the country through cloud computers donated by Alibaba.
Chen Shuangle, an engineer of the Youth Cloud Project, said that there is a lack of hardware in rural areas, but there is a lack of "software", and the Youth Cloud Project hopes to continue to provide good content for rural education. In August this year, Juvenile Cloud launched a public welfare lecturer recruitment plan, in addition to the existing first batch of 13 public welfare lecturers, there are also 86 Ali employees who have signed up for "lecturer volunteers", which can be added at any time.
The courses developed by the public welfare lecturers include new content such as AI and large models, chips, cloud computing, etc., so that children in the mountains can also understand and learn the latest technology in the same way as children in the city.

"I want rural children to know about the corner of the world that is going on."
Yu Ya is an AI engineer at Alibaba Cloud. In her opinion, the Internet and AI industries are booming, but rural children's understanding of technology is still relatively narrow, and their knowledge of computers is still stuck in practicing typing, so she signed up as a public welfare lecturer. "I want to share with the children the hottest AIGC right now, so that they can understand the corner of the world that is currently in full swing. ”
Zeng Lingying of Ali International Digital Business said that he was a left-behind child, so he hopes to help "his former self". Now her friends and family are very supportive, her sister's family serves as curriculum consultants, and the two children in the family have also become "auditionists".

Sun Hao, who has been in the chip industry for 7 years, is also a member of the first batch of public welfare lecturers, and he feels that recording the course as ** and distributing it to students' desktops through cloud computers can allow more children to learn, tell good chip stories, and plant the seeds of science and technology, "This kind of sustainable activity is more meaningful." ”
Get close to the frontier and take an interesting science lesson
In order to make the science and technology course more acceptable to children, the youth cloud project team conducted special training and invited popular science writers and teachers to share their experiences.
Thinking from the perspective of children, grasp their interests with what they are interested in", Xu Zhenlin, a development engineer at Alibaba Cloud, created a game called "Earth Online", integrating the relevant knowledge of cloud computing into the game's level solving challenges.
In addition, he also passed on the spirit of Wang Jian, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and founder of Alibaba Cloud, to his classmates. "Good resources will be like torches, relaying stick by stick. ”

Practice makes sense. In order to polish the curriculum, the juvenile cloud public welfare lecturers organized many trial lectures in schools in Lancang Lahu Autonomous County of Yunnan Province, Zhiduo County of Qinghai Province, Jingshan Town of Yuhang District of Hangzhou City and other regions. The interesting class format and novel course content greatly stimulated the students' interest in learning, and the classroom interaction and laughter continued, which greatly increased the confidence of the novice lecturers.

After training and trial lectures, the young cloud public welfare lecturers gradually polished a set of courses full of sincerity and a sense of science and technology, covering topics such as AI and large models, chips, cloud computing, and the application of technology in life. Interestingly, at least one of the materials in each lesson is generated by a large model, which will be revealed to children after each lesson, truly integrating technology and teaching.
Let's ignite the scientific and technological dreams of rural children
The beauty of the 'sunken fish and geese' written in the book, can AI draw it?”
How many ants are there in the world?”
Is there a question that even the principal doesn't know the answer to?”
After attending two popular science classes, the children of Yili Junior High School in Jialing District, Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, raised a variety of questions. After the popular science class, the children had a preliminary impression of it: AI is like a robot that knows everything.

According to the Juvenile Cloud Project Team, the "Cloud Science and Technology Course" will be updated, and the "Public Welfare Lecturer Group" will also be recruited from the whole society in the future, looking forward to more social forces to ignite the scientific and technological dreams of rural children.
