Foreword: I am a retired senior secondary school teacher, and although my pension is quite high, I am convinced that I deserve it. After 38 years of teaching and educating people, I finally bid farewell to the podium and ushered in retirement. Some people were surprised by my pension and thought that the teachers were overpaid. In this article, I will go through my personal experience of stories to illustrate why I am not ashamed of my pension.
In 1979, the third year of the resumption of the college entrance examination, it was not easy to be admitted to a normal college. At that time, I attended a high school in a county town, and there were only 52 students in our class, of whom only 17 were girls. Although my grades are not among the best, they are also considered average. During the college entrance examination, our students with excellent grades were admitted to engineering colleges, students with intermediate studies were admitted to normal colleges and medical universities, and students with average grades were admitted to secondary schools such as finance and economics, nursing, and police academies. Even half of the students failed the college entrance examination. At that time, it was a great achievement to be admitted to a college or secondary school.
Retelling and expanding: Looking back on the college entrance examination process that year, I still remember it vividly. At that time, we didn't have exam-oriented education courses like we do now, and self-study became our only option. I still vividly remember reading with an oil lamp every night, and it was a picture in my memory. Like me, many of my classmates stay in the school classroom after school to study on their own, discuss problems with each other, and make progress together. These arduous experiences have become the cornerstone of my future teaching and education.
When I graduated from university in 1983, my salary as a teacher was very low, far from being comparable to that of my classmates who were employed in companies at the same time. When I was only paid a few dozen dollars a month, their wages had already multiplied several times. When we eat together, the students who work in the company always take the initiative to settle the bill, because they understand the financial pressure of our teachers. I still remember that time, when I couldn't buy an 18 yuan toy car for my daughter, she rolled on the floor of the mall and cried, and this helplessness of not being able to meet the needs of my children made my heart ache.
Restatement and expansion: In that era, as a teacher, I did not enjoy the social status and treatment that I deserved. Teachers are poorly paid compared to other professions, and financial constraints often affect our mood. Despite this, we have always been on the front line of teaching and educating each and every one of our students. Our generation of teachers is not only for life, but also for the love and perseverance of education.
It's not easy to stay in a teaching position all the time. Of the 10 teachers assigned to the school with me, only two of them, made it to retirement. At that time, many first-class institutions and institutions went to the school to recruit talents, such as courts, procuratorates, etc., and many people chose to leave the school and devote themselves to other fields. There are also people who strive to be transferred to large enterprises, tertiary industries, etc., and some even resign from their teaching positions to start their own businesses. In contrast, it is not easy to remain a teacher on the front line of teaching, and we have experienced countless difficulties and challenges.
Year after year, we work silently on the podium, teaching knowledge, and nurturing generations of students. "Stubbornness" and "focus" are our beliefs here. Whether it's the pressure of family or other great opportunities, we still choose the education industry. Thanks to our hard work, the school has welcomed new teachers one after another, but few have persevered to the end. This persistence and dedication can only be truly understood by fellow teachers.
The country's emphasis on the education industry has gradually increased, and we, as teachers, have begun to enjoy the benefits of this transformation. Ten years of trees, a hundred years of education, education has always been the hope of the country. The concept of respecting teachers and valuing education has gradually taken root in the hearts of the people. Families have begun to attach importance to the education of their children, and the state has also stepped up efforts to cultivate talents. Together, these factors have contributed to the improvement of the social status of teachers, the increase in salaries, and the generous pensions that have brought us a good pension. However, there have also been some rumours and criticisms in the community, claiming that teachers are paid well for make-up classes, that they are overpaid, and that their pensions are higher than those of civil servants. These statements are based on a lack of understanding of past teachers' experiences and may even be interfered with by people with ulterior motives.
Restatement and expansion: The team of teachers has gradually grown, educational resources have gradually been enriched, and the status of teachers has been affirmed and valued in the society. Our teaching environment has gradually improved, and our salary package has gradually increased. However, these changes did not happen overnight, but were the result of a long period of development in education. We have put in great effort and sweat in our educational positions, and we are not only teachers, but also guides in educating people.
Summary: Looking back on my career, I deeply feel that the teaching profession is not easy. After experiencing the hardships of studying, facing the low salary, I have endured the pressure and test of sticking to my post. But it's all of this that makes me value my pension even more. It's a reward for hard work and dedication. As a retired teacher, I am proud and proud of my pension. It is not only an affirmation of my years of hard work, but also a reflection of the importance and investment in the entire education industry. I believe that this is also a kind of reward for the silent dedication of the teachers.
While enjoying my retirement, I am grateful for the attention and support of the country and ** for the education industry. Their attention has led to the improvement of the treatment of our teachers, and the increase in pensions also reflects the recognition and feedback of education. Here, I would like to thank myself for my hard work when I was young, and thank me for sticking to my teaching position. Ten years of hard study not only gave me the title of the gold list, but also gave me the opportunity to stick to the three-foot podium of education.
So I'm not ashamed when someone is surprised about my pension. I am convinced that I deserve it, because it is the reward for my dedication and dedication to the cause of education. I will continue to make more contributions to the society as a retired teacher to repay my care and expectations for the cause of education.
