The 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is now coming to an end in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Although Xie Zhenhua, China's special envoy for climate change, called the conference the "most difficult" in recent years, there is still plenty of good news. More than $57 billion has been pledged by countries** and institutions for the climate agenda in just four days, and there has been a breakthrough in "loss and damage"** financing, with 119 countries pledging to triple the global renewable energy level by 2030 and to phase out fossil fuels as mainstream ......
China has also been praised by the international community for its carbon neutrality actions and new energy development. Fatih Birol, the head of the International Energy Agency, said at a side event that China has made remarkable achievements in the development of clean energy and electric vehicle industries such as solar and wind energy, and is "a champion in the field of clean energy."
Even more striking was the performance of Chinese companies at the climate summit, where they were invited to participate in various forums and dialogues to convey China's voice and contribute to China's "dual carbon transition" wisdom.
On December 5, the winners of COP28 "Energy Transition Changemakers" were announced, and Envision Technology Group, a leading Chinese new energy company, stood out among more than 1,000 applications around the world and won two awardsOne is the world's largest commercial green hydrogen and ammonia project built by Envision in Chifeng, and the other is the world's first zero-carbon industrial park built in Ordos.

Initiated and launched by the UAE Presidency of COP28, the Energy Transition Changemakers Awards recognise innovative and replicable projects and solutions that make a significant contribution to global decarbonization and emission reduction, with the aim of accelerating a just energy transition for the benefit of society as a whole.
The Energy Transition Changemakers Awards are presented in four categories: Renewables, Renewable Energy Integration and Clean PowerEnergy efficiency;Low-carbon hydrogen;Heavy emitting industries – steel, cement and aluminum.
Envision won the first and third categories, and was the only company to win two awards at the COP28 Energy Transition Changemakers Awards.
The gold content of this award is still very high, and there are strict standards for the declared projects, one is that there must be innovative solutions, including innovative strategies and business models, improved efficiency, and innovation in processes and technologiesSecond, there are scalable and replicable solutions, and the project overcomes significant challenges to achieve initial commercial operational results, demonstrating credible solutions, such as licensing, procurement, offtake agreements and financing, that have the potential to be rolled out and replicated elsewhere in the world.
Many of the world's largest and top companies participated in the application, and more than 1,000 cases were received, and after the application and evaluation process, the best projects were selected by an international committee of industry experts by category, and the best projects were selected as "Energy Transition Changemakers". There are only 10 winners for each award.
Envision Chifeng Green Hydrogen & Ammonia Project solves the challenges of high production cost, low efficiency and renewable energy volatility of green hydrogen by innovating to build a renewable power system and achieve technological breakthroughs in hydrogen electrolyzers, renewable energy control, and dynamic ammonia synthesis, providing the best systematic solution for zero-carbon hydrogen energy for the world.
The innovation of Ordos Zero-carbon Industrial Park has realized the effective integration of green and zero-carbon energy production and load, which not only promotes the construction of a new power system, but also promotes the development of a green industrial system, and is currently expanding to Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, providing Chinese innovative solutions for the global industrial zero-carbon transformation.
Along with Envision, other award-winning projects come from the industry's leading French energy company ENGIE, American Air Products, and German energy giant Eon, UAE renewable energy company Masdar, etc.
At the invitation of Adnan Z. Amin, CEO of COP28, Zhang Lei, CEO of Envision Technology Group, received the award and delivered a speech. Zhang Lei said that the core of the zero-carbon industrial park project is to integrate the production and consumption of renewable energy by integrating renewable energy systems and industrial ecosystems, which will help solve the most difficult challenges in the energy and industrial sectors today. We are delighted to be recognized by the COP28 Energy Transition Transformation Awards. Envision will continue to innovate boldly, lead the green transition and clean energy innovation, and drive the world towards a net-zero future.
Zhang Lei was interviewed by Bloomberg.

In an exclusive interview with Bloomberg at COP28, Zhang Lei said that the global shipping, aviation, steel, chemical and other fields are the deep-water areas of the zero-carbon transition, and they are currently significantly behind the set goals, which is due to the insufficient supply caused by the high cost of green hydroammonia and its derivatives. Envision Chifeng Zero-carbon Hydrogen & Ammonia Project solves cost challenges through system technology innovation, enabling the large-scale industrialization of "new oil".
As a representative of China's green technology enterprises, Envision was also invited to attend the conference to demonstrate the hard power of zero-carbon technology in an all-round way.

As the first team to sign the UNFCCC Framework on Climate Change Sport for Climate Action, Envision Formula E Team has been invited by COP28 to participate in the COP28 Blue Zone this year after making its COP26 debut in 2021. The team exhibited an e-waste art car, the world's first 1:1 reproduction of a drivable Formula E car made entirely from e-waste, in order to call for a solution to the growing problem of e-waste.
In addition, at COP28, Envision also co-hosted a sustainable leadership dialogue with HSBC, where Malaysia's Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Neh Nazmi, HSBC Global Commercial Banking CEO Barry O'Byrne, and UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Innovative Finance and Sustainable Investment, Hiromichi Mizuno, shared their views on topics such as energy transition, finance and climate investment, and decarbonization of the ** chain, and offered suggestions for global climate governance.
