The AH5700 uses a constant-time (COT) control topology to provide fast transient response. The 2A gate driver minimizes power loss from external MOSFETs while allowing the use of a variety of standard threshold devices. In addition, the AH5700 uses a pulse-skipping mode to improve efficiency at light or no load.
Depending on the resistance value between the FREQ pin and the GND pin, the switching frequency can be set to 150 kHz, 300 kHz, 600 kHz, or 1200 kHz. The device also has a programmable soft-start function, and the VADJ, IADJ pins are used to program the output VBUS voltage and output current limit. Both offer undervoltage lockout (UVLO), soft-start (SS), internally regulated power, and slope compensation to minimize the number of external parts.
AH5700 provides voltage control loops and constant current loops. Protection features include Overload Protection (OLP), Overvoltage Protection (OVP), and Short Circuit Protection (SCP).
