Tang Yin (1470-1523), also known as Tang Bohu, was a famous Chinese writer, painter and calligrapher of the Ming Dynasty. But in his personal life, Tang Yin did experience many misfortunes.
The general so-called "father, mother, wife, and son" refers to the major blow suffered by Tang Yin in his personal family life. Specifically:
Kefu: refers to Tang Yin causing his father's untimely death. It is said that Tang Yin's behavior when he was young made his father Tang Shunzhi disappointed and angry, which may have affected his health, but this is not supported by conclusive evidence;
Kemu: Refers to Tang Yin's mother who died when he was very young. Because Tang Yin lost his mother's care and teachings at a young age, this had a certain impact on his growth
Ke wife: refers to the premature death of Tang Yin's first wife, Li. After Li's death, Tang Yin remarried several more times, but it is said that they were not happy;
Kezi: refers to the children born to Tang Yin, who died early or died young, and no heirs could reach adulthood.
These events did give Tang Yin a painful blow at all stages. In addition to the tragedy of the family, Tang Yin's officialdom career was not smooth. He offended the powerful because of his opposition to Yan Song, and was ostracized and attacked many times in his official position, and even fell into difficulties for a time in his later years, and his life was embarrassed.
However, despite family tragedy and career setbacks, Tang Yin's artistic creativity has not faded. His poems, books, and paintings all have a high status in history. With his unique literary style and personality, he became one of the representatives of Ming Dynasty culture. Tang Yin still maintained his passion for creation and positive attitude towards life in the face of adversity, showing his strong vitality and talent as an artist.
