Apple Vision Pro is finally here.
Recently, Apple released an official press release previewing the next launch plan for the Vision Pro and revealing more product-related content.
Next, Xiaoguo will take you to take a look at what noteworthy product information Apple has announced this time. Apple says the Vision Pro will open pre-orders on January 19 and go on sale on February 2. Unlike the previous ones**, the first Vision Pro is available for both offline and online purchases, with a starting price of $3,499 (about 25,000 yuan) and is currently only available in a 256 GB version.
In terms of hardware configuration on Apple's official website, the Vision Pro is equipped with M2 and R1 dual-chip architectures, and is equipped with 12 cameras, 5 sensors, and 6 microphones.
The Vision Pro features two micro-OLED screens on the front that support up to 23 million pixels and a cushioning material called Light Seal. According to Apple, Light Seal is made of soft textiles that come in a variety of shapes and sizes and can be freely bent to fit the user's face. For myopia users, Apple also supports custom ZEISS optical lenses, which cost US$149 (about 1,066 yuan) for a custom-sized lens** and US$99 (about 708 yuan) for standard-gauge reading glasses.
Judging from the contents of the Vision Pro box announced by Apple, the Vision Pro is equipped with a single-loop knit strap and a double-ring strap, allowing users to choose their preferred wearing style. Also included in the box are a Light Seal and two spare pads, a front case for the Vision Pro, a polishing cloth, an external battery, and a USB-C charging kit.
It is worth mentioning on Apple's official website that Apple has also quietly updated the product page of Vision Pro recently, announcing the battery life of Vision Pro. Apple said it conducted a discharge test in November using a pre-production Vision Pro device, including web browsing and FaceTime.
As a result, the Vision Pro can reach up to 2 hours of battery life in typical use cases when paired with an external battery.
If used***, the battery life can reach up to 25 hours.
On the software side, the new spatial operating system, VisionOS, is also ready. Apple says that VisionOS leverages existing developer frameworks to make more than 1 million familiar iOS iPadOS apps available in the new App Store.
At the same time, the Vision Pro will initially offer more than 250 Apple Arcade games and more than 150 3D immersive movies. Apple has already sent out invitations to select users to host an event at offline retail stores across the U.S. on February 2, the day of the product's launch.
It is understood on the social platform that the event will mainly provide free Vision Pro experience and demonstration activities for users to attend, and the duration will be from Friday to Sunday. At that time, we will also learn more about Vision Pro-related products, which is very much worth looking forward to.
However, at present, the price of $3499 is still a bit expensive for the average user, and it is expected that Apple will also launch more user-friendly iterations in the future.
