In a recent public event, Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar expressed India's contribution to the stability of the global oil and gas market due to India's policy of buying Russian oil during the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and said that he should be thanked. Such statements once again demonstrate India's brazenness and its ability to argue. Jaishankar's view is that India has not only stabilized the global oil and gas market, but also curbed global inflation. This argument may seem absurd, but in Jaishankar's debates, he was able to use it to fight for India's interests on the international stage.
However, this logic is undesirable. Russia's invasion of Ukraine has led Western countries to impose sanctions on Russia, including restrictions on Russian oil and gas exports. However, India, an ally of Western countries, has not been affected by such sanctions and has been making a lot of money by buying large quantities of oil imported from Russia. This means that India is involved in breaking the Western sanctions blockade against Russia, which is at a cost to Western countries.
What is even more remarkable is that Jaishankar went so far as to ask Western countries to express their gratitude for India's actions. This is undoubtedly a slap in the face to Western countries, and also asks Western countries to thank India. The Indian Foreign Minister's remarks are really unbearable, but I also have to admire India's cheekiness and eloquent ability. It is precisely because of these capabilities that India can be left and right in the current complex international situation, and truly "eat the plaintiff and eat the defendant".
There are important reasons behind India's audacity. First, the criticality of India's geographical location and its ability to contain China. As the most powerful and populous country in South Asia, India plays an important role in the current geopolitical landscape. It is precisely for this reason that Western countries, led by the United States, have adopted a posture of wooing India, and under normal circumstances, they will not easily offend India.
More important, however, is that the United States has always wanted to build an "Indo-Pacific strategy" to contain China. As the scope of the strategy involves the Asia-Pacific region, India cannot be ignored. In this context, the importance of India is infinitely magnified. It is precisely because of the importance attached to India that India can move left and right on the international chessboard and seek its own interests.
While India's approach is unacceptable, we must admit that they are a rather difficult opponent. As a direct territorial dispute with China, India's actions could lead to a greater likelihood of future conflicts. Therefore, we can despise India strategically, but we need to pay attention to it tactically.
Looking at what India has done, we can say that they have no lower limit, or rather unscrupulous means. However, this tactical approach and debating ability is a test and undoubtedly a challenge for opponents. So, we have to be vigilant against India and stay on high alert.
On the international stage, India's cheekiness and polemical ability are once again remarkable. They have made huge profits by breaking the sanctions blockade imposed on Russia by Western countries through actions such as the purchase of Russian oil. The reason why India dares to be so arrogant stems from its special advantages in geopolitics and pinning down China.
While we can laugh at India's actions, we must also be wary of the challenges posed by India's strategic adversary status and debating capabilities. Their behavior has no lower limits, and it deserves our high vigilance. While we can be outraged by India's brazenness, in the international arena we must remain calm and respond accordingly. The purpose of all this is to safeguard the interests and dignity of the country.
