On the afternoon of November 27th, we took a boat from Weizhou Island back to Beihai City, and the tour guide took us to visit the Golden Bay Mangrove Scenic Area. This ecological leisure resort tourism area is the best scenic spot in China that is rich in coastal wetland style and fisherman's cultural connotation.

Jinhai Bay Mangrove Scenic Area is located about 15 kilometers southeast of Beihai City, and is connected to Beihai Silver Beach, a national 4A-level scenic spot known as "the first beach in the world".

Here I want to say more: the roads in the scenic area are spacious and flat, in order to make money from tourists, they also need to take the scenic sightseeing bus to go, and the tourist bus cannot enter. Now this money-making trend in tourist attractions across the country should be braked!

Along the way, you will see the endless mangrove forest by the sea, which is a unique community of viviparous woody plants in the intertidal zone of the tropical and ** coastal zones. Known as the sea forest, it is a rare plant under national key protection, mysterious and magical, born by the sea, hidden with the rising tide and receding with the tide.

The whole scenic area of mangrove forest covers an area of about 20 square kilometers, which is composed of three parts: the mangrove sightseeing belt, the golden beach and the main park. There is a sea "forest guard" mangrove forest of more than 2,000 acres in the area, where hundreds of species of birds, insects, shellfish, fish, shrimp, crabs and other creatures breed and inhabit, and it is a rare marine biodiversity reserve in China.

Mangrove is a unique woody viviparous plant, and the way mangrove is viviparous is very special. When the mangrove seeds are ripe, they do not fall, but germinate on the mother tree, stretching out the young roots downward, and the fetal roots burst into stems, and two leaves are born at the upper end, turning them into a young tree.

Once the young tree grows, it falls off the mother tree on its own. Due to the heavy stems and roots, the young tree falls vertically, and the young roots are well inserted into the beach mud and continue to grow independently, growing into a small shrub after one to two years.

We admired the mangrove forests on both sides along the scenic plank road, and listened to the tour guide introduce the growth environment and characteristics of the mangrove forest. The mangrove forest itself is not a red plant, but the bark in the mangrove forest is rich in tannins, which can extract red dyes, so it is called mangrove. If the bark is cut, it will appear red when oxidized in contact with air. So it is called a mangrove plant.

Mangrove forest refers to the woody biome of tidal flat wetlands that grow in the tropics, are flooded by periodic tidal waters, and are mainly composed of mangrove plants or trees. In addition, mangroves have the unique function of being the only green shrub that can grow in the tropics along the mud and sea of beaches because their roots and leaves can filter out the salty water that kills plants.

From seed maturity to full maturity, the process of creating life in mangroves can be compared to the behavior of mammals in giving birth to offspring. These two characteristics of adapting to seawater, viviparous young trees, and mangroves are rare among plants, so it is highly valued by scientists and people in many countries around the world.

The mangrove forest in the scenic area belongs to the sandy mangrove forest, about 2,000 acres. The sandy area of Golden Bay is flat, sunny and rainfall, making it ideal for mangrove growth. Mangrove forests are also a unique landscape between land and sea.

Here you can enjoy the flocks flying into the sky, the fishermen catching the sea, the poetry of the red sun and the golden beach, and the poet Wang Bo's "Luoxia and the lonely birds fly together, and the autumn water is the same color as the sky." "The famous phrase of the ages is verified here.

The mangrove forest, which we affectionately call "sea forest", is also a paradise for birds, and there are all kinds of seabirds inhabiting the mangrove forest in the scenic area, among which the largest number is the egret bird, a flock of egrets foraging and playing in the forest, enjoying themselves, occasionally being startled by fishermen, and the scene of a hundred birds flying is magnificent.

The tide rises and falls every day, and the mangrove forests are also periodically immersed in the seawater, and the rise and fall of the tides are related to the movement of the moon, and the mangroves also adjust their life rhythms accordingly.

This is because mangroves have a very peculiar function: reverse concentration gradient absorption. This unique function enables mangroves to effectively prevent and reduce the occurrence of red tides and promote the growth and reproduction of marine life.

At the same time, mature mangrove forests have lush foliage and well-developed root systems, which can also form a natural barrier against wind and waves and protect the seawall. In addition, mangroves provide nutrient-rich nutrients for shallow wetland organisms such as fish, shrimp, shellfish and crabs through the transformation of the food chain in the form of litter.

At low tide, countless shellfish, crabs, sandworms, and mud are left on the wide sandy beach, and local fishermen and men all go out of their homes to catch the sea with tools. Their tools are divided into two types of hoes and shovels, with a hoe for men and shovels for women with less strength.

If you see a small hole in the beach, there is water and small bubbles in the hole, it means that there is something in the hole, and you need to dig the hole very quickly, and quickly take out the contents inside, sometimes sandworms, sometimes shellfish, there will always be unexpected surprises.

We arrived at the mangrove scenic spot in the evening, just in time to see the fishermen returning from the sea, which is the Tan family by the sea. They like to wear it"Tanjia hat"。"Tanjia hat"It is made of bamboo leaves, with a diameter of about 40 cm, a brim of about 5 cm, and a hexagonal top. "Tanjia hat"The workmanship is fine, the weaving is exquisite, and the exterior is painted with light paint, which is solid and bright.

Looking at the burden they carried, one end is the sea tool, and the other is today's harvest, it should be a full load.

These seafarers are all nearby villagers, and people from other villages can't just come to catch the sea. Because seafood resources are limited, they need to be protected. Catching the sea here is a means of livelihood for the locals, and their lives are inseparable from this sea.

In the northeast of the mangrove sightseeing area, there is a Tanjia Folk Garden, which is a scenic spot of the Tanjia Folk Culture Park. Visitors can see the home, life, working tools, fishing equipment, exhibition halls, performances and other items of the Tan family here.

The Tanjia is a collective term for water fishermen in China's coastal areas, mainly in Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, and Hainan provinces. The Tan family belongs to the Han nationality, has the main customs and habits of the Han nationality, and also has its unique living customs and customs. Because they did not have land and lived on water, the Tanka people formed some customs that were different from those of the land-based society.

The sculpture of the sand worm girl in "Catching the Sea" vividly represents the scene of the locals going to catch the sea.

This is a group of sculptures on a mangrove beach, showing the scene of the Tan family rushing to the sea.

Fishing Foil depicts the scene of the Tanka family catching fish in the fishing foil, and most of them work at night. In order to make it easier to find fish, in addition to fishing gear, you should also bring fishing lights.

Happy Childhood" works show the production and life of the mother and daughter of the Tan family. The mother went into the sea to catch fish with a fishing cage on her back, and the daughter followed her mother with a small fish basket on her back. I also went over to join in the fun and see how many fish my mother had caught!

Taking a photo here in the Tan family, we learned about the living customs of the Tan family, and we are also related to the Tan family!

The work depicts the labor scene of a fisherwoman weaving and mending fishing nets during the fishing moratorium, and her wife used to hold hands with them in a friendly manner.

After visiting the Tanjia Customs Garden, we waited here for the sightseeing bus in the scenic area and prepared to go back to the hotel.

This is our tour guide in Guangxi, Ah Hui, I invited her to take pictures at the airport, and she readily agreed. In the past few days in Guangxi, Ah Hui has worked very hard, and introduced us to many customs and customs of Guangxi along the way, which has benefited me a lot. Some of the knowledge I wrote in the Guangxi travel article was learned from Ah Hui's introduction.

What especially touched me was that on the second day of our arrival in Nanning, Guangxi, on the highway to Beihai by bus, my wife suddenly found that her mobile phone had been left in her Nanning hotel room. At that time, my wife was a little anxious, and Ah Hui immediately contacted the Nanning Hotel when she saw this. After the other party found the mobile phone and took a photo to confirm, Ah Hui comforted my wife not to worry, and paid the postage in advance, and immediately contacted the Nanning Hotel to express the mobile phone to the accommodation hotel in Beihai. To the Beihai Hotel my wife happily got the mobile phone, here we are very grateful to Ah Hui for her enthusiastic service to tourists, she can think about tourists everywhere, is our intimate person.

Quick Facts:

For a long time from the Yuan Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, the Tan people were bullied, they had no tribes, no fields, and lived off the sea. Provisions for the aborigines of the shore"Tan people"They were not allowed to live on the shore, they were not allowed to read and write, they were not allowed to marry with families on the shore, and they were never in the roster of the imperial examination"Tan people"name. The government also does not register the floating fishermen, and they do not have a household registration.

Before liberation, they were also called sea because they were adrift at sea all year round"Gypsy"Person. In the past, some people thought that the Tanka family was called because the Tanka family lived on the sea all year round, such as eggshells drifting on the seaSome people also believe that the Tan family fights against the wind and waves at sea all the year round, is in a treacherous survival situation, and has a unique means of livelihood, life is insecure, and is as fragile as an eggshell, so it is called the Tan family. The Tanka people are mainly distributed in the South China Sea and live by fishing.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Tan people settled ashore one after another. They are not an independent ethnic group (most of them are Han Chinese), but they have a unique culture and unique folk customs. Created by them"Weddings on the water"It has been inscribed on the National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Let's introduce another Guangxi snack: 籺.

*It was my breakfast on Weizhou Island, and the dim sum wrapped in leaves was "籺", and when opened, it was a small cookie made of glutinous rice. The tour guide introduced to us that this is a unique local snack, I tasted the osmanthus filling, and my wife tasted the coconut filling, which was very delicious.

籺, pronounced "hé" in Mandarin, is a traditional specialty food and a tribute to the ancestors of the gods and spirits used by people in ancient times during the New Year's holidays. Fresh leaves are used to make the sauce, and the filling is salty from meat and vegetables, sweet from sesame seeds and peanuts, and seasoning with tangerine peel and soy sauce. Each household has a different mix and match of the above ingredients according to their own tastes.

Making and eating rice dumplings is the oldest, most traditional, and indispensable custom of Cantonese people, and different solar terms will do different seasons, winter solstice, Spring Festival, and February.

Second, Duanyang, weddings and other occasions will be done. To this day, people still maintain the custom of eating rice to celebrate the New Year.

At this point, my Guangxi travel notes are all over, and finally thank you for traveling to Guangxi with my article and sharing our happiness!
