Liu Lingcang, the brilliant painter, was born in 1908 in Gu'an, Hebei Province. His name was originally Liu Enhan, however, he was given the word "Lingcang" by Xu Shichang**, which also became his stage name.
In 1926, Liu Lingcang entered the Beijing Chinese Painting Research Association and began his professional painting Xi. Here, he studied under two masters, Xu Yansun and Guan Pinghu, specializing in gongbi and heavy color figure painting. They taught him traditional techniques and trained him rigorously in both technique and theory. He deeply studied the painting styles and techniques of famous Xi masters and constantly improved his artistic accomplishment.
After that, Liu Lingcang entered the Beiping Art College to continue his studies, and at the same time, he did not stop painting. At this stage, his work begins to show a unique personal style. He combines traditional techniques with modern aesthetics to create a series of works with a sense of the times and personal characteristics.
Liu Lingcang's paintings are not only exquisite, but also rich in profound cultural connotations. His works are loved and appreciated by audiences at home and abroad. His artistic achievements not only earned him a wide reputation, but also made important contributions to the development of Chinese painting art.
