The Xiangyanghong 05 ship was listed in the South China Sea Bureau

Recently, the South China Sea Bureau of the Ministry of Natural Resources held the "Xiangyanghong 05" ship handover ceremony and entry ceremony at Hongshengsha Wharf in Huangpu, Guangzhou. The "Xiangyanghong 05" ship is another 3,000-ton comprehensive scientific research ship following the "Xiangyanghong 31" ship, with a total length of 845 meters, width 164 meters, full load displacement 4237 tons. The ship adopts a number of international advanced ship technology, equipped with advanced multi-functional marine mobile laboratory, with deep-water multi-beam, Doppler current profiler (ADCP), shallow formation profiler, marine automatic weather station and other survey equipment, as well as 10,000 meters of geological winch, CTD winch, A-frame, pumping station and other deck control support equipment, is a multi-disciplinary, multi-functional, multi-technical means in one of the modern unlimited navigation area-level comprehensive scientific research ship.

The newly listed "Xiangyanghong 05" inherits and uses the original 10,000-ton meritorious ocean-going survey ship "Xiangyanghong No. 5". Since its entry into the South China Sea in 1972, the "Xiangyanghong 5" ship has created a series of glories in the history of China's marine survey around the goal of "clarifying the China Sea, entering the three oceans, and landing on Antarctica". From 1976 to 1980, the "Xiangyanghong No. 5" ship went to the Pacific Ocean five times as a command ship, and successfully completed the tasks of site selection, meteorological support and data warehouse for China's first carrier rocket test areaIn 1978, the Xiangyanghong 5 ship obtained the first manganese nodule sample in the deep sea of 4,784 meters in the Pacific Ocean, which marked China's entry into the first echelon of the world's ocean scientific researchIn 1987, the "Xiangyanghong 5" ship led a team into the Nansha Islands and adjacent waters, completed the global sea level joint survey mission undertaken by China, carried out the site selection survey and analysis demonstration of the construction of the Nansha Ocean Station, and erected an investigation monument on Fiery Cross Reef.

The relevant person in charge of the South China Sea Bureau of the Ministry of Natural Resources said that the "Xiangyanghong 05" ship was officially included in the list, and it will form a coordinated scientific investigation and operation fleet with other existing ships of the South China Sea Bureau, so as to further improve the comprehensive operation capability of the South China Sea Bureau in a wider range of sea areas.
