Draw for what?How to draw well?The predecessors already had the legal principles, but now they are full of fictitious fire. If you give full play to your own nature, you will be a master. My self-nature, usually restless, friends come to drink as tea, in the chaos there is less maturity in the world, but more liberation in the world. It's close to Jiazi, and it's only intellectual.
After painting for many years, I gradually realized the importance of state of mind, and this experience is by no means a cultivation of temperament. It can be described as a cloud of smoke outside the house, pushing the window can be faced, and what you get is all in the meeting. "The text is to reach my heart, and the painting is to suit my intentions". Only this heart follows the revelation of the world, but often regrets that it is in the helplessness of knowing the flame of the lamp and having cooked for a long time. Life and creation are like a cave house**. The result is always between mystery and clarity, and there is an answer unconsciously. Cheap, bento, God knows.

Look!In the middle of Gao Minquan's studio hangs a 6-foot banner, only to see the picture: dark clouds in the sky are rolling, overlapping and overlapping, but it is not like clouds, but more like mountains!It's a suffocating mountain!The earth is rising and falling, the river is surging, and in the blank space by the river, Qu Yuan's clothes are fluttering, looking up to the sky and roaring. The characters in the picture are just like the "minus brush" painting of Liang Kai in the Southern Song Dynasty, and the clothing pattern is made of slender skimming with a sharp pen, and the depiction is smooth and elegant, and it is indulgent in the simple brush.
A landscape painting called "Cold Moon" is the author's deep feeling when he passes through Xishu at night, the bright moon is in the sky outside the car window, the mountains and fields are asleep, and the silence is far away. Gao Minquan once wrote an article entitled "The Enlightenment of Imagery Art" in 1997, which was compiled into the collection of the 97 International Imagery Art Symposium, which shows that he is not just a painter who can draw with a pen, but a very thoughtful painter. He uses "imagery" and "enlightenment" as the titles, which are the best interpretation of his first type of works. Tang Zhang Yanyuan said: "The intention is not to paint, so it is to paint", which means that if you have no worries and reach the realm of selflessness when painting, then the painting is the natural expression of the heart, and the work will have unexpected aesthetic value. Of course, "imagery" is also "concrete", and "enlightenment" is also a rebellion against the "old-fashioned".
The reason why Gao Minquan's paintings have a strong visual impact, a strong appeal in art, and a strong shock in spirit, in addition to having a certain talent, is also due to his diligence. Huang Binhong said: "Jin people's book, change the square into a circle, change the subordinate to the line, its method is the most flexible and convenient for painting." He also said: "Especially when the Jin people write the path, when the master is skilled, the handwriting will become a supreme wonderful product." This kind of pen and ink skill, which is due to the calligraphy of the Wei and Jin dynasties, is vividly present in the first category of works (imagery) and the third category of works (flowers and birds).
Gao Minquan's paintings, regardless of landscapes, figures, flowers and birds, are unique, and they can stand on their own and have a unique appearance, especially those imagery works, which are particularly impressive, and can reach a unique height, which is really admirable.
