The ECCENTRICA is a modified car based on the Lamborghini Diablo from the 90s of the last century, which was recently unveiled in Milan, Italy. The project was initiated by entrepreneur and Lamborghini collector Emanuel Colombini and is made up of Borromeodesilva Design, a team of former prototype development engineers and technical professionals, as well as excellent component brands such as Pirelli, Brembo, Marantz, Capristo and Alcantara as partners.
The Eccentrica prototype retains the essence of the original Diablo while offering a more modern driving experience with a host of technical and design upgrades. It retains the bold proportions of the original car while employing composite materials and a reinforced chassis. The interior is a blend of minimalism from the 90s of the 20th century with state-of-the-art mechanical design.
Out of his love for Lamborghini Diablo, Colombini founded the company Restomod. He realized his vision by looking for partners from well-known high-end car brands. The eccentrica used the first-generation Diablo as a "prototype vehicle" that enhanced its appearance and performance while maintaining its original character. The name "Eccentrica" reflects the brand's commitment to reinventing and modernizing classic cars and paying homage to them.
The design firm Borromeo Desilva played a crucial role in this project, achieving the goal of enhancing Diablo's personality and preserving its iconic character. The body of the prototype has undergone extensive redesign, revealing striking details. Extreme body proportions, a streamlined front end, redesigned side skirts, new alloy wheels, and a rear area with refined details.
One of the outstanding features of the eccentrica is its "pull-down headlights", which combine retro-futuristic styling with modern safety standards. Once again, it embodies Restomod's idea of modernizing and reinterpreting the classic Diablo tradition.
Here is a look back at the historical background of the Diablo model, which was produced between 1990 and 2001 as the successor to the Countach, which predates the Murcielago. Launched during Chrysler's acquisition of Lamborghini, the Diablo is more refined than the Countach and has the typical look of a 90s supercar. In total, the company produced 2,884 vehicles of this type, using 57 liters or 60-liter V12 engine and five-speed manual gearbox, in 4It reaches 60 mph in 5 seconds with a claimed top speed of 204 mph.
The Diablo has undergone a modern look that is also thanks to the timeless styling of this supercar. According to this formula, those classic sports cars of the past have hope to be given a new lease of life.
