The eldest grandson, Shunde, was an outstanding general during the Tang Dynasty, he was born in a Xianbei family in Luoyang, and was the great-grandson of Sun Zhi, the chief of the Northern Wei Dynasty, and the grandson of Sun Cheng, the chief of the Qinzhou Assassin of the Northern Zhou Dynasty. He was not only the uncle of Empress Wende of the Tang Dynasty, but also was posthumously awarded the governor of Jingzhou, nicknamed "Xiang".
