Song Renqiang was the founding father of New China, who once held important military and political positions in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, and made important contributions to the revolutionary cause. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he was mainly engaged in local work, successively serving as secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee, first deputy secretary of the Southwest Bureau, director of the Second Machinery Department, first secretary of the Northeast Bureau, etc., and was the top leader of the Northeast Bureau, one of the six major sub-bureaus.
However, he was unjustly hit and forced to leave his job and was in a state of protection and evacuation for a long time, suffering serious physical and mental injuries. He was in danger of his life several times, but fortunately someone saved him in time. His historical issues have also remained unresolved, affecting his political status and reputation.
The year 1976 was a major turning point in China's history. Mr. Zhu and Mr. Zhu passed away one after another, and the people of the whole country fell into deep sorrow. The Gang of Four seized the opportunity to mess up the political situation, causing strong dissatisfaction and opposition from the people, and everyone was eager to end the disaster as soon as possible. Song Renqiang also felt extremely sad and worried, he didn't know what his fate would be.
He went to the hospital to visit his old comrade-in-arms Liao Chengzhi in this year, and the two had a very happy conversation, recalling the stormy years of the past, and also talking about the current predicament and confusion. Liao Chengzhi was more confident than Song Renqiang, and he said to Song Renqiang: Old Song, don't worry, the good show is still to come, you wait and see!
Sure enough, not long after, the Gang of Four was crushed, and the political situation in China changed radically. Song Renqiang finally waited for the opportunity to resume work, thanks to General Zhang Aiping's care and help. Although he is 68 years old, he still has a strong sense of responsibility and mission, and he is willing to make some more contributions to the country and the people.
He successively served as director of the Seventh Machinery Department and director of the Central Organization Department, and gave full play to his organizational and coordination skills, and did a great deal of work to correct unjust, false and wrongly decided cases and restore the reputation and work of cadres. He also put forward his own opinions and suggestions for the reform and opening up and the reform of the leadership system.
In 1985, he was 76 years old, and he felt that his energy was not as good as before, and he offered to retire and give up his position to the younger generation. With his life, he proved that he was a loyal Communist Party member, a selfless revolutionary, a brave fighter, and an outstanding leader.
