Hungary** will launch a HUF 10 billion international exchange program of Hungarian universities, which will be run by the Public Association. Hankó Balázs, State Secretary for Higher Education at the Hungarian Ministry of Culture and Innovation, said at a joint press conference at the ministry and its strategic partner Tempus Public ** that funding will be made available next year for students, lecturers and researchers at basic universities so that they can connect with the world's leading universities.
He said that higher education has been reformed in recent years and transformed in terms of competitiveness, with 12 Hungarian universities currently ranked in the top 5% of the best higher education institutions in the world. It is expected that by 2030, at least one Hungarian university will be among the top 100 universities in the world and at least three universities in Europe will be among the top 100 universities in Europe.
Currently, 10,000 students, teachers and researchers are participating in the exchange program, and with the implementation of the new ** program called the Pannonia Program, the number of participants in the exchange program is expected to reach 20,000 per year by 2030. Next year, the program will support 8,000 students, teachers, and researchers. and provide a scholarship of HUF 350,000 to HUF 500,000 per month. And 20% (HUF 2 billion) of this will be used to help Hungarian students, teachers and researchers get into the world's top 250 universities.
Czibere K Roly, chairman of the board of directors of the Tempus Public Council, said universities could apply between January 15 and 29.
