Carr Vale's Scratch Card Success Score Kit.
Derby County Football Club Karl Valley Football Club recently held a football card** event to raise funds for their under-10 teams to purchase warm winter clothing.
Wayne Schofield, Site Manager for Harron Homes' Thorpe Meadows development, was fortunate enough to select Aberdeen's winning team to receive the official Harron Homes logo on the finished kit.
Carl Vale FC, led by local player and parent Damien Bailey, found itself in need of financial assistance and came up with the idea of hosting a soccer card competition. Businesses from the region put £20 each into the mix, choosing one out of 52 teams. Once all teams have been selected, the club scrapes off the hidden winner in the field**.
Wayne Schofield, site manager at Soppemadows, said: "I know Aberdeen doesn't always win in real life, but I also rarely win anything, so I thought why not pick them?'And voila, they won the whole thing!Wayne said. "Finally, Aberdeen has won something!
Seriously, though, it's for a great cause, and I'm glad that Harlan and the rest of the business are coming together to support this team.
With a total of 52 businesses participating, Carr Vale FC raised a staggering 104000 GBP.
It's great for the club," said Damian. "Honestly, raising this amount in such a short period of time, especially considering how close we are to winter, is really special for us. We were always worried that the kids wouldn't have any gear during the colder months, so this amount was really a game changer for us.
Founded in the 1960s in the small village of Carr Vale, the club started out as a rather unsuccessful but dynamic group of players who loved to play. A few decades later, it has grown into a much larger club. However, when current head coach Damian first entered the tournament as a parent, the under-10 team often lost first or even 15-0 games.
Years later, the club now regularly wins games, has seen a huge increase in attendance, and has its own on-site café, which is a bustling business in itself. With the addition of these new winter kits, it's doing a good job of finding characters and playing with it.
Being able to provide these new high-quality jerseys to the kids is a testament to how far the club has come from humble beginnings," said Darmian. "
Plus, the Harron Homes logo looks absolutely brilliant on the kit!”
Paul Walters, Sales Manager at Harron Homes, said: "We are delighted to be part of the Carr Vale FC football card fundraiser.
At Harron Homes, it's important that we give back to the community and rebuild the areas we build. In the last year alone, we have supported several football teams in the North Midlands, including Priory Celtic FC near the Shipley Lakeside development in Derbyshire, Bracken Lane Primary Academy near The Brambles development in Nottinghamshire, and EBFC near the Heritage Green development in Chesterfield.
It's great to be able to make sure these young players have the necessary gear for the outdoors, give them the opportunity to play properly, and make them feel like a real part of the club and the team. We wish them all the best in their upcoming matches!
Wherever we build, we will continue to invest locally because we are not only building homes, but helping the entire community.
