On December 15, the "Launching Ceremony of the Central Chinese Version of the Drama "Les Miserables" and the Promotion Ceremony of the Original Script was held in Beijing. The premiere will take place from 26 to 28 January 2024 at the Poly Theatre in Beijing.
Nothing is isolated, everything is interdependent. Human beings are closely related to the earth, the earth is closely related to the sun, the sun is related to the stars, the stars are closely related to the nebula, and the nebulae and galaxies are in symbiosis with infinity. At the event, in the string quartet, a text written by Victor Hugo is projected on the stage background, and it is Jean Belolini who conducts the play on stage. French director Jean Belolini wrote a new script for the first Chinese version of the drama "Les Miserables" based on the original book**, and all the lines in the play are from the original book.

Jean Belolini expressed his desire to use drama to highlight this literary work, and to bring together people from different cultures through this creation.
In this version of "Les Miserables", the actors not only have to play their own roles, but also jump out of the role in the performance, reading the text on the stage, which is quite Brecht's "distancing" style of stage expression, but also brings challenges and novelties to the actors.
The well-known actor Liu Ye plays the role of "Ran Agen" in the play. Liu Ye, who is also the producer and starring of "Les Miserables", also has a deep feeling for the "original attributes" of the play: "Les Miserables is a story that we are familiar with, whether it is a ** drama, a drama, or a movie, it has been adapted. And adding distinctive French theatrical characteristics to a Chinese version of "Les Miserables" will bring a very unique feeling to Chinese actors familiar with the Stani system and the very new French theatrical concept!”

Les Misérables" chief producer Anaith Martin unveiled the mystery of the show's poster for the audience. She said: "The red, white and blue colors of the poster will make people think of France where the story takes place at first, the silhouettes of many characters on the poster will make us feel the insignificance of everyone in the torrent of the times, and the characters depicted in red seem to be those people with special meaning that we will never forget, such as Jean Agen, the protagonist of "Les Miserables"!."According to reports, the four words "Les Miserables" on the poster were selected from Li Shutong's different calligraphy works.
