On November 28, Hubei Qimei Mountain National Nature Reserve was awarded a membership certificate by the National Committee for Chinese and the Biosphere and was accepted as a member of the "China Biosphere Reserve Network".

The Man and the Biosphere Programme (MAB) is a first-class scientific programme initiated by UNESCO in 1971. Hubei Seven Sisters Mountain National Nature Reserve is located in Xuan'en County, Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hubei Province, named after the seven peaks arranged in sequence like the legendary Seven Fairies. Xuan'en uses the city as a bridge and uses the green ecology of the international charm tea mountain, the world's rare ancient plant "living fossil" and the Seven Sisters Mountain of the dove tree community as the medium to tell the story of "beautiful Xuan'en" to the world.

A piece of tea connects China and the world

Xuan'en is located in the south of Enshi Prefecture, the "world's selenium capital", with a mysterious north latitude of 30 ° passing through, and the unique natural environment has given birth to a unique Xuan'en tea, which has passed the EU organic product certification, the American Rainforest Alliance certification, and the international fair ** certification.

The world's first acquaintance with Xuan'en benefited from the early export of tea**. Zheng Shibing, general manager of Xuanen Wutai Changchen Tea Company, is one of the pioneers of tea.

In October this year, Zheng Shibing led the team to participate in the Cologne International Food Exhibition in Germany, and once again brought Xuan'en "Wujiatai Gong Tea" out of the country. "Customers from Germany, France and other EU countries not only love the beautiful shape of Xuan'en tea, but also love the natural taste and sweet aftertaste of Xuan'en tea. Zheng Shibing said.

The impression of Xuan'en "good tea, good people, and good spirits" inspired foreign merchants to come to Xuan'en across thousands of mountains and rivers. As soon as Yilmaz Canzir, a merchant of Waldhoff Company in Germany, came to Xuan'en Wutai Changchen Tea Company, he couldn't wait to walk into the tea making workshop and experience the fun of tea making.

Wujiatai Gong Tea" was selected into the list of provincial intangible cultural heritage with its unique tea-making process of "260 high temperature finishing, 40 minutes of rapid stir-frying, and more than 10 times of drying and scattering incense", which made foreign merchants call "surprised". As the "hometown of Chinese tribute tea", tea culture elements have gradually been integrated into every corner of Xuan'en City and into the daily life of citizens.

A series of brands such as "Changchen", "Lvke" and "Weimin" have been busy running and traveling between the West and the East in railway trains, ocean freighters, and international airports, injecting new momentum into the road of friendship and win-win. Today, Xuan'en tea is exported to more than 10 countries and regions such as the European Union and Morocco.

Awarded the "World's Best Nature Reserve".

Dove tree, the flower color is milky white, shaped like a white pigeon, known as the "Chinese pigeon tree", but also the "county flower" of Xuan'en. The Seven Sisters Mountain Nature Reserve has about 500 hectares of dove tree community and 970 hectares of subalpine peat moss swamp wetland, which is an important forest ecosystem type nature reserve.

Xuan'en fully implements the forest chief system, implements the state and county-level forest chief contact protection area, implements 19 township and village forest chiefs, and hires 94 ecological forest rangers and 32 part-time forest rangers. We have strengthened the prevention and control of pests and the monitoring and prevention and control of wildlife epidemic sources and diseases, and the protected areas are diverse in landform types and rich in biodiversity, and have been listed as priority conservation areas in China and key biodiversity areas of global significance in the Action Plan for Biodiversity Conservation of China and the Research Report on the National Conditions of Biodiversity in China.

Xuan'en practices the concept of ecological civilization, relies on nature education, builds field education corridors, wildlife education halls, nature education halls, ecological trails and other propaganda and education facilities, recruits and trains 13 nature education instructors and 19 science popularization volunteers, creates 2 sets of nature education courses, and creates a series of theme activities such as "Bird Love Week".

Adhering to the principle of "co-management of natural resources, co-construction of harmonious communities, and sharing of happy life", 3,088 households in the reserve participated in the management and protection of ecological public welfare forests, and 126 people participated in centralized management and protection, with an annual management and protection subsidy of more than 7 million yuan. At the same time, we will vigorously develop ecological planting industries such as high-efficiency economic forests, understory planting, and forest food. The reserve has also registered a series of trademarks called "Seven Sisters Mountain", which are authorized to be used by community collective economic organizations and large industrial households free of charge.

On July 9 this year, at the 2023 Guiyang International Forum on Ecological Civilization, the Seven Sisters Mountain National Nature Reserve was awarded the "World's Best Nature Reserve" by 13 places in China by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and only 77 places in the world have been selected. Recently, as a member of the IUCN Green List, the "Xuan'en Practice" of the Seven Sisters Mountain Nature Reserve has been declared, opening a new channel for international exchanges and cooperation and expanding the international "circle of friends".

Immortal Mountain Tribute Water, Romantic Xuan'en". The vivid animation of the harmonious coexistence of man and nature is becoming a "window" for the world to see Xuan'en.
