Jill Braff has been appointed as the new head of Zenimax Studios in Bethesda. Previously, Braff has extensive industry experience, having held key roles at Nintendo and Sega, as well as General Manager of Integrated and Casual Games at Xbox Game Studios.
Braff has a strong background in the gaming and entertainment industry, having held senior positions at Glu Mobile, Home Shopping Network, and Warner Bros. Her experience in the gaming industry encompasses not only marketing, but also consumer research and team management. These experiences have given her a strong foundation in her new leadership role.
When Zenimax Bethesda joined the Xbox ecosystem, Braff was a core leader in the process. During the integration, she gained insight into the team's operations and leadership structure. Under his leadership, Bethesda Zenimax Studios will continue to operate as a limited-integration entity. She will directly manage senior leadership such as Todd Howard, Todd Vaughn, Matt Firor, Paul Jensen, and Heather Cooper.
In addition, Bethesda recently announced that its new title, Starfield, has attracted more than 13 million players since its release in September, creating the largest player scale in the company's history. Meanwhile, the studio's co-director, Marc Tardif, has announced his departure. During his tenure, Tardif managed a number of major game projects including Starfield, Fallout 76, and The Elder Scrolls: Blade.
Matt Booty, president of Microsoft's game content and studios, announced the important personnel change to employees via email Wednesday. This change heralds more innovation and development for Bethesda Zenimax under the new leadership.
