On November 20, well-known experts from Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, Beijing University of Foreign Chinese, Shanghai Wai Chinese University and other key universities and the Education Service Standards and Accreditation Research Center of Beijing Normal University jointly developed a comprehensive assessment system for innovative English for middle school students.
According to Song Qianqian, the leading teacher of the National Innovative English Competition, this test is divided into three stages: preliminary evaluation (benchmark evaluation), positive evaluation (literacy evaluation), and general evaluation
1) Preliminary evaluation (benchmark evaluation).
It focuses on the candidates' comprehensive English writing ability and innovation ability, combined with real situations, using reading, seeing, writing and other abilities and strategies to effectively understand and express meaning.
1.Form and content.
The organizing committee will set up a session in the first semester and the second semester, and participants must choose at least one of them to enter the evaluation system and participate in the evaluation by submitting essays.
2) Positive evaluation (literacy assessment).
Based on the multi-dimensional competency model of innovative English, the ability of participants to communicate, learn Xi and innovate effectively in multiple and complex situations is emphatically assessed. The positive evaluation consists of two parts: online computer-based answer + oral test.
3) General comments. The general evaluation requires participants to think and plan systematically in complex new situations, use interdisciplinary knowledge, and solve problems innovatively through three-dimensional and multi-dimensional understanding and expression.
General evaluation time: the end of July 2024.
In 2018, Ms. Song Qianqian led a team to participate in the National Innovative English Competition and won the title of "Special Tutor", and her representative works include "Core Literacy, Thinking First", "Learning in Autonomy, "Core" in Autonomy". She said that the innovative English comprehensive assessment for middle school students is an important evaluation method and incentive mechanism for secondary school English teaching, which cultivates students' ability to use English comprehensively and improves secondary school English teaching to a new level.
